Furor buffed for 3.0.2
Gives you 100% chance to gain 10 Rage when you shapeshift into Bear and Dire Bear Form, and you keep up to 100 of your Energy when you shapeshift into Cat Form, and increases your total Intellect while in Moonkin form by 10%.
Holy sweet monkeys, Druid fans. Not only is there now no penalty whatsoever for switching in and out of cat form, we get some added Moonkin utility for this already excellent talent. This is one of those days where I just want to hug the devs, all of them.
In case anyone is unclear about how this latest iteration of Furor works, here's a quick rundown (as I understand it). The game will now track your energy regeneration even when not in cat form, like it tracks your mana regen in feral forms now. When you shift back into cat, you'll have whatever amount of energy you would have had if you had just stayed in cat in the first place. Shift out to heal at 80 energy? You'll have 100 when you pop back in, 2 seconds later. Arrive at your destination and switch from flight into cat form? 100 energy to go mangle some faces.
Powershifting is still out, but this is way better for the soloing Druid, not to mention the Moonkin perks. There is some concern that this may be overpowered in PvP: what's to stop you from DPSing in cat till you're at 0 energy, then shifting to bear for 10 seconds to DPS that way, then back to cat? Well, nothing, as far as I know. However, keep in mind that this is still beta, and if ferals end up hideously overpowered in arenas, I'm sure they'll make changes as necessary.

"Get off a gryphon and shift into cat form"???
What self-respecting druid ever uses a flying mount!?
Eliah Hecht Aug 29th 2008 3:38PM
Me…I'm still leveling, so I use the taxis :( But you're right, I should edit.
Karmakin Aug 29th 2008 3:42PM
IMO, I don't know about the balance of it, but frankly the thematic element of a druid switching between all forms makes sense.
AAron Aug 29th 2008 3:58PM
Makes sense to me...although, I doubt that will happen that much...its usually more about energy management, than just blowing through it (like mana), but, then again, I only play a rogue so thats just from my perspective.

"and you keep up to 100 of your Energy when you shapeshift into Cat Form..."
This seems like whatever energy you had before you shift out of cat form is what you have when you return to cat form, 'up to 100 energy'. I don't think that it means energy will continue to regenerate while in humanoid form. If I'm wrong though, and it does regenerate, then WOOOHOOO!

Nice. Cat bomb with no wait for energy to fill up. I can't wait for all those Death Knights to hit Hellfire Peninsula.
MisterMoose Aug 29th 2008 3:54PM
I don't believe you keep regenerating energy in caster form, rather the amount you had when you left cat form is saved. If you left with 80 energy, then when you shift back you'll have 80 energy, whether it is 10 seconds or 10 minutes later. Nice nonetheless.

He covered this in the article, and Blizzard even said as much yesterday or so. Blizzard made the change to energy regeneration for cats and furor as a way to stop power shifting. The change was that cat form energy regen would continue while in another form, up to furors 40 point mark. Now it just looks like they expanded the talent even further, which is really, really nice.

If they're going to add a bonus to shifting to moonkin in furor they should do the same for ToL form.
Regyr Aug 29th 2008 3:59PM
If yesterday's article on Furor was correct, you will continue your energy regen ticks while in other forms. The old Furor dropped your energy back to 40 when you want cat. The new Furor will allow you to keep all of it (100) [not 100%.]

YAY! As a moonkin I am really enjoying the buffs we are getting in Wrath. Unfortunately, I am usually pretty heavy into balance, so finding points for this, master shapershifter, and omen of clarity could be a little tough... Damn them and their making me make choices!
Tiforix Aug 29th 2008 4:05PM
Awesome change for Moonkins! Since we get an intellect to spell damage conversion in the Balance tree, this means more damage in PvE as well.
Naix Aug 29th 2008 4:13PM
Finally. Some buff to get Druids back out of last place as the worst class in the game. Now just give us dragon form and we will be good.
Dart Aug 29th 2008 9:25PM
So... have you missed TBC completely? Or was that a failed attempt at trolling/sarcasm.
eroch Aug 29th 2008 4:17PM
so if you start the day in cat form, let your energy regen to 60 or 100, then go about your business... once you reshift into cat form you will be at 100 energy to start a fight with? I still think its bs. (for feral druid pvp anyway) I wonder if this was changed because of kitty step. no more doing what you need to do exactly when you need to do it. no more feral druids beating EVERY class in pvp. pwning with 2pc t5 wont be as easy anymore.
eroch Aug 29th 2008 4:19PM
i guess its more a change of playstyle than a nerf. new things to learn i guess
Palladiamors Aug 29th 2008 4:43PM
Yer a little behind, eroch. It has already been stated that the two piece bonus from Malorne is being nerfed as you level, eventually ending up at eighty getting back zero energy or rage, so that won't be a problem later.
MechChef Aug 29th 2008 4:36PM
"if ferals end up hideously overpowered in arenas, I'm sure they'll make changes as necessary"
Suuuuure. Replace "feral" with "resto" and you'll have nailed the status quo.
Drad Aug 29th 2008 4:39PM
when i saw this my jaw dropped, the 10%int in moonkin form is amazing, now i dont have to take imp. MotW. and the bear is the same but the cat form one is a little sketchy, does it mean 100% of what you came out of it or what?
Kryptonls Aug 29th 2008 4:52PM
Yeah, druids need buffing... hmm...
