It's fair to say that some of the gear in the 77+ instances could probably replace T6. Compare http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=35670 with http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=30972: even with excellent gem choices, the blue helmet gives so much more crit that it's an upgrade. You can run halls of stone successfully at level 77, if everyone's doing their jobs correctly.
