Death Knights receive unique voices
The fine folk over at DeathKnight.info have posted a video of the unique Death Knight voices we've all been promised. They don't have an entirely new set of voice emotes (at least not yet), they took a slightly different route. There's actually a sound filter over the voices, making them sound echoey and spooky. The females have been described as sounding like banshees, which is pretty accurate I think. If you're not a fan of the voice effects, you're allowed to turn them off in your Sound control panel so you won't have to hear it. Other people still will, unless they do the same.
I'm definitely a fan of this for most of the race/gender combos. Some of them are lackluster (in my opinion) such as the Female Dwarves. The best? Male Blood Elf by far. That laugh? Awesome. Just awesome. I'm sure we'll see a couple of tweaks to this before the end of the beta period, but they're definitely on the right track, I think.

I'd be more impressed if it were new emotes and voices, not just the same ole stuff run through a sound filter.
If I wanted that, I'd just open up the control panel for my sound card.

I think male Draenei sounded pretty good... but would be nice if they did something better than just edit the current files.

Oh boy, they added a flange effect. It's ok, I hope I can turn it off.

The new sound for the male Blood Elf laugh and emotes are what they should have been from the get go. This just sealed my decision as to what race/sex to go with.

Male Draenei, Tauren, Forsaken, and Orc sounded pretty good, as expected. Male Blood Elf sounded a little bit too overdone. Female Forsaken and Blood Elf were good. Male Troll was unexpectedly incredible. I was certain of a Tauren DK for my Hordie, but after hearing the Troll voice, I might have to reconsider.
The problem with the others, though, is that a sound filter just isn't going to do it. They sound *way* too laid back. No "Howdy!"s (well, it works for Gnomes, 'cause I think of them more like mischievous little guys than murderous recluses). No amount of filtering is going to change their attitude, and a lot of them really need to be less enthusiastic. I think the male Humans and Night Elves need the most work as far as that goes. Which kinda sucks, since my more played DK is going to be Human. Hoping they fine tune it a bit more by live.

So does this also apply to the error phrases like "I can't do that yet" or "I need to get closer"?

Nothing can make the BE voices less annoying. They are the most smug sounds in the world. I generally won't even group with them because they never shut up and it makes my mouth taste like murder.

I wanted to hear "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?"
That'd be hillarious! xD

I played around with it. I like male BE and male undead. Male undead seems to have changed the most out of the rest. It's effect is definately a lot more exaggerated to the point that it almost sounds completely different.
The others, at least horde, seem a lot more subtle. You sorta have to do a double take to make sure its actually different.

Yeah. Works with everything. I found out the voices were implemented when a human DK 1 shotted a button and went "ARRGGGH" in that DK echo voices and I was like WTF? I /silly'ed and noticed my voice got changed. Neato.

They sound great, but they really need to give them different lines. Maybe not necessarily for the /silly emotes, but for the hello/goodbyes they really need some darker lines. I don't want my Draenei to be saying 'May the Naaru bless you and yours' as a DK... hell, that line sucks even without being one.

Troll male for sure, sounds so creepy and beautiful at the same time :P Now I really love the trolls so :P but UD & BELF also sounded very nice. Still the troll charge: Now we Kill with the DK voice over so damn good.
