WoW Moviewatch: The Way of Life
The Way of Life is another top contender for the contest. The story revolves around a man, Thord, sent to Northrend at a young age at the same time as Arthas Menethil. Instead of emerging a hero, he is resigned to a life of misery at a post in Menethil Harbour. However, one day he'll meet a young man, Caldor, that will change his outlook on life.
Clearly in this contest to win, Firebolt pulled out all the stops with sound design by Caruu and a voiceover by Drewbie! He also used CrazyTalk, by Reallusion, for lip-synching. As a longtime fan of the program, it's about time that the World of Warcraft machinimators embraced it!
[Thanks, Nathan!]

Really amazing video. Though I'm amused that they had to lop off the ears of a blood Elf to make a "Young man" for the video XD

Nathan Allen Pinard ftw. I think he'll bring 5'000 Dollars to this guy because it kinda beats Pinkhair's and Obilith's videos.
Now i think its between this guy & Martin Falch - http://www.wegame.com/watch/Divided_Soul/

that was the most pathetic wow movie i have ever seen, it had absolutley no point, there was like 2 minuts of vrykul chasing after something, and then he jumps off a boat...

Maybe it is just me, but the story line kinda fell apart at the flash back. I am not sure I understood what was happening in the Northrend scenes, and I don't get how that applies to the story between Thord and Caldor.
The fight scene with the giant had a couple funny shots, though!

The story was boring and hard to follow, but the voiceover and animation was well done. Get a decent script next time and you'll have something.

Stunning, very well done. My only complaint is the Northrend segment which seemed kind of long and out of place.

Superb soundtrack. Acceptable animation. Pathetic plot. Cookie-cutter characters.
I think I just spent more time devising alliterative criticisms than the writer of this movie's script did while he(or she, let's be fair) trying to pen a compelling story. I spent the whole moving thinking to myself, "This music is awesome! Woah, that was a sweet fighting move. Wait, what's going on? Why are we in Northrend now?" It's seems as if this movie relied to heavily on the effects to drive emotion, rather than the actual events taking place. And while there were excellent effects, it did not manage to replace real reaction to a thrilling, tantalizing tale.

I was entertained all the way through, I guess I was one of the few that have posted here that understood what the author was trying to get across.
The music was amazing, but don't overlook the sound design - it was incredible too.

Viewers,
I'd talked to the author about storyboarding in his works, and it's something that he improves on, and wants to improve on more. Stuff like that takes trial and error really.
However, time is not what he had. When it comes to the editing and effects in this film, the work to me is a serious accomplishment. The Wegame contest specifically stated that you CANNOT create the entry outside of the contest dates (Aug 1st, to Aug 31st at 23:59) so creating this in just one month to me is impressive, not to mention is was actually less than that because he had to deliver a final cut to myself and the sound designer.
Of course, my opinion could be considered biased since I'm a part of it, but the fact is the reason why I do his films is because they have a very high production quality to them. It's only a matter of time before the storyboarding is perfected.
I'm glad most of you liked the score.
