PTR forums up, more beta invites going out

And more folks are getting into the Wrath beta as well -- we've heard from quite a few people on our tips line, and there's been lots of murmuring on the forums that new beta invites are going out. Looks like Blizzard is ratcheting up testing of the new content in a big way. That doesn't mean that we'll move our expectation of the release date up, as there's still a lot of work to be done on what we've seen in the beta. But if you've been waiting patiently for your chance to check out some of the new content, it could be right around the corner.

Elune be praised!! I want an invite more than ever...
Quisling Sep 4th 2008 3:12PM
Well cheer up, Elune-worshiper. I got one as well, and my account wasn't even active at the time. Good news for everyone; Blizzard is ramping up the beta HARD.

Poor European BETA server ... More people = More chaos and lags. But well ... maybe they'll finally introduce a 2nd European server.
Liljon Sep 4th 2008 1:38PM
Got my beta invitation yesterday around 10h30 EST too :D

Damn you Blizzard! *shakes fist*
I've been desperately wanting a beta key for months (and I still haven't gotten an invite but oh well) and now days before the open beta for WAR starts (for which I do have a key), they start getting ready for the 3.0 ptr. Coincidence? I think not. Don't make me choose! And by the way, if I do have to choose, I pick testing for WAR because I'm mad at you Blizzard =P
Yes this is a lighthearted QQ post ;)

Ok, seriously, where is the "Submit news" link? I can't find one, lol.
Anyway, they have removed Achievement titles for server firsts.

Only ones still in are the boss ones.

The beta invites are well-timed in a concern over a massive loss of players to Warhammer. Their open beta begins on Sunday. From what I've seen and heard, this game is actually a welcome change for those who've been playing Wow since the start.
Blizzard's days of poor customer service, useless GMs and lack of new content (in a timely fashion) are finally going to come back and haunt them a little.

This is true. I had gotten an invite on August 28th. Didn't notice it until yesterday when I decided to check my gmail spam folder. For some reason it was placed in there, but it was a legitimate invite. I am downloading gigs of patches as we speak.

Argh! I want a beta key so badly! And if the PTR goes live tomorrow, I'll have to choose between Spore and 3.0.2. D:
Clbull Sep 5th 2008 9:26AM
Yeah, this is sort of a QQ post, but I too am quite pissed off at Blizzard for not sending me a Beta invite. Although it doesn't matter how early you opt in, I was one of the people that opted in as soon as it opened.
Nothing in my gmail inbox or spam folder.

Stupid Mike. It's not gonna be "months* away from the Public Test Realm finally going up. It is gonna be a mere week(s). Since most/alot of stores have it set for a (unofficial) release date of November 3rd.
doug Sep 4th 2008 4:29PM
I still have not gotten a beta invite. Blizz must omgwtf hate me. Pity me!
Justin Sep 4th 2008 3:36PM
I got one last night too... but to be honest it was so plain that I, for a moment, thought it was a scam.
