Back in June on my guild alliance's forums, one of our members posted a thread asking us a fairly simple question: What are your
WoW goals? Being an alliance that covers a wide variety of playstyles, the posed goals were just as varied. The most common goal across everyone was to get an
Amani War Bear, but these goals were everything from killing Illidan to getting their first epic flying mount to getting the Gladiator title.
The thread was bumped just the other day so we could all see our progress on the goals we posted oh-so-long ago (in internet time). It was pretty cool to see, since many of the people that posted completed
most of their pre-
Wrath goals. It's really fun to see everyone actually achieving the things they've wanted, no matter how big or small.
Personally, I still have a few goals I'd like to meet before the expansion rolls around.
The first one I want far, far more than the others. The mount and the trinket are pure vanity (especially since my Priest already has a bear), whereas the Kil'jaeden kill is something I'd really love to see my raid accomplish together. I'm going to go ahead and pass this question on to you guys: What are your pre-
Wrath of the Lich King goals? How about goals that don't have a time limit on them? Do you just want an
Ironfoe one day, like a certain Paladin friend of mine that shall remain nameless? I'm sure quite a few of you have your hearts set on a
Deathcharger.

5 days a week since the revision of MGT on heroic. A few more when I can on regular MGT.
No phoenix. No phoenix. No itty bittie phoenix for me yet. QQ.
This is my goal. I crave one. I bleed one. Please before the expansion.
I have the dragons. I want the phoenix. :)

Just make sure to be on ML, or know every single one of your group members when you do that.. Hate to see you losing a need roll to a pug for the pet..

Hit the gold cap.
Naix Sep 5th 2008 9:33AM
That should be doable.
With the new talents hitting the live servers any week. Pushing your way to end game content should be a snap. The new talents are amazing and if your at least wearing some purples and know how to play t5/t6 won't be far away.

Funny how I just made such a list for my guild :)
1) See Archimonde
2) See Black Temple
3) Kill Vashj and KT
4) Complete T5 for my priest

Hit level 70. Oh and be on the winning side in a battleground for once.

Getting Champion of the Naaru title, of which I miss only the last part: Magtheridon. Also getting T4 chestpiece from him to get a full set of something :P
Maybe even getting Hand of A'dal title. That isn't far either, only some last two or three quests left.

My goal was to kill Illidan (legit, not buy a kill). Doesnt look like thatll happen. At least I've seen half of BT and all of Hyjal ;)
c'mon Wrath

Go into SSC and fight Vashj, Fight Illidan, Fight Mag, Fight, Fight Kiljaden... in short all the famous bosses that right now are raid bosses ... sadly my guild isnt so big as to do raids... we have come so far as to go half kara...
get netherwing mount, get arena tier 4, and get tier 5 too.... and be exalted with most of the factions

I just want to have fun and leave the stress of real life for a small bit.
The second I have 'goals' the game becomes a job and I don't want a second job.
bob Sep 5th 2008 9:09AM
Amen.
IanC Sep 5th 2008 9:55AM
Thats true, which is why my goals arent really much.
wrathwillcome Sep 5th 2008 11:10AM
Amen to that. I used to want to clear all the content in the game, but it turned out to become a 2nd job for me. So I took a couple of steps back and now I am just trying to enjoy the game and have fun while I do it.

Good topic, this is one thing I like to reflect upon often, and I've thought about it a lot recently since Wrath is coming closer..
1) Level all weapon skills to 350 - I'm a warrior and who knows what sort of weapon I'll use in Wrath
2) Try to accomplish all quests pre-Wrath - I want to be able to look back saying: I did it all! (I may have to skip some pre-tbc 40 man raid q's though)
3) Get a Netherwing mount.
4) Try to get exhalted with as many factions as possible - similar reasoning as number 2 (I will most likely not achieve exhalted with factions like Hydraxian Waterlords etc.)
Normally I'm PvE focused, but as the summer + the upcoming expansion pack has sort of killed my raiding, I've chosen to focus on the softer things. In Wrath, my goals will strictly be PvE oriented again.

Kill Vashj & Kael.
The amusing part is: I already killed both Illidan and Archimonde...
/sigh

Me too, I'm actually on Twins now :)

My original goal was to find a group of people with my same work schedule that I could raid with. As it is i've been playing since release and have seend MC twice and only been as far as Maiden in Kara. But, alas, that dream has ended as numerous posts on the forums has become fruitless. So, my new goals include get my newly found love of the warrior class into epic mode. Almost to 70 and would like him to get some purple love. Looks like crafted items for me.
Another goal of mine is to find some new found friends in the game. All mine have seemed to disappear. Good luck all on your goals.
Sirg Sep 5th 2008 8:29AM
I'm already preparing for the new content. So I want the Ambassador title for my alt (my main already has Champion of the Naaru), The Diplomat would be nice as well, but to much grinding for that.
I wanted Hand of A'dal, but that means spending to much time raiding and playing wow than I can afford.
Something came as a surprise in my wishlist - a figureprints statue, which I ordered :)
Trying to complete a pre-BC dungeon set is also fun and not so easy as it might seem. The old dungeons are very well made, and I found them less boring than the corridor type instances of the BC.
