Oh, the cleverness of me!

Yeah, even I don't believe me.
While I'm certain I'll never make a Death Knight my main, I'm sure I'll enjoy leveling one. I'm sure I'm not going to enjoy trying to level one alongside 50,000 other people and their cousins and their friends and their friends' dogs and their friends' dogs' fleas leveling a Death Knight. So it's occurred to me that, OK as I am with the notion of waiting a few months to get started on my bouncing baby bundle of risen-corpsified merriment, I can capitalize on the coming rush of Death Knights in a completely different fashion simply by exercising a little foresight. All Death Knights are melee, right? None of them can really heal, right? People are already noticing un peu problem in the beta in this vein, right? And I can't level an alt worth beans, right right? Right. What's the one buff that makes all melee salivate, provided by an excellent healing class, during a time in which healers will never have to worry about finding a group or a tank?
Bingo. I'm getting a resto Shaman to 58 and parking him in Eastern Plaguelands to twiddle his thumbs in anticipation of the descent of the Death Knight legion come Wrath's release. See you there!

I have my level 59 Resto Shaman and Warrior tank parked waiting for the DK surge. My Priest will probably be there soon using the RAF bonus. It should be a free ride to 70 running instance with the DKs (plus the entertainment value of people playing a new class during mass pulls).

It's nice to see that I get voted down for trying to make a point, while everyone else just QQ's their little hearts out about death knights being OP. Don't play one. Cancel your account. Nobody cares. The class dynamic was already broken before WotLK. This isn't going to make it more broken. If you aren't grateful for new content, there's the door ------>.

I'm sorry the article disappointed, although I thought it was pretty tongue-in-cheek. The overriding point that I think people were trying to make was that, while every DK is going to be a great experience for people given the fantastic lore and quests for them, there are certain practical concerns that are hard to ignore. No one doubts that servers are going to be flooded with DK's once Wrath hits, and I'm guessing quest objectives and mobs are going to be a matter of sitting around bored and waiting for respawn timers for some time.
Moreover, with the stories about 4- and 5-man DK groups trying to instance, I can't imagine that every single person in the group being after the same drops and gear is going to be any easier on live servers than it currently is in the beta. No matter how great the class is (and people universally seem to agree that Blizzard did an amazing job with them), there's no escaping the likely effects of hundreds or thousands of people trying to level one simultaneously. EPL is likely to be in total gridlock for a while.
The ability to create a DK certainly won't go anywhere - it'll still be there a few months after Wrath goes live - so I thought; if you don't want to add to what is already going to be a nightmare demographic problem, is it possible to turn the situation to both your and other peoples' advantage by leveling a complementary class that won't compete for drops but will enhance leveling groups?
Thus the idea of parking a resto shammy in Plaguelands to level alongside people trying a new DK (or at least to stick in Outland once said DK's start hitting the tougher dungeons and need a healer). To me it seems like a pretty win-win situation. And I don't really believe it takes anything away from the special experience of leveling a DK simply to observe that there are probably going to be a few logistical problems resulting from trying to enjoy yours alongside more people than a zone can realistically support.

"u dont need healers to run instances in beta atm dk aggro pingpong...." I'm not hip to all the nifty new acronyms, but that looks like your hamster ran across your keyboard mid-sentence.
Are you saying that in the Beta, healers aren't as important as they will be when WoLK is online?

I had a similar idea, but was told depending on how quickly or efficiently some DK's leveled, parking a 60 in Outland would be better, seeing as unless the quest rewards in W/EPL are being redone, the DK's would go from great rewards in EH, to crap rewards in W/EPL, to great rewards in Outland. Whereas if they just left EH b/t 58-60, they'd be able to head straight to Outland for the same level of quest rewards they were recieving in EH.
The other thing that might be problematic is the number of people you KNOW leveling DK's. Is it a close friend? Is it half your guild? Or is it complete strangers you intend to help level? Weighing whichever may just intice you to push to 70 while you await the xpac and the push to 80 with the rest of your non-dk-rerolling colleagues, as they'll need healers too.
