Anybody else think they're releasing too much content, too fast, in the beta alone? Everything's gonna feel spoiled by the time it hits live...
I know, I know, testing, but still. Boo :(
iortii Sep 5th 2008 1:27AM
im sorry did you just complain that blizzard releases content to fast? u haven't been playing wow for long have u
CaffeineRage Sep 5th 2008 4:48AM
Isn't it the point to test content in beta? This isn't Everquest, where in the beta NOTHING changes...
Metal_Gear Sep 5th 2008 4:54AM
Never mind about WoW, you havent been playing MMOs too long. Play The Matrix Online for 2 years, where a re-skinned coat and minimal bug fixes is a great patch...
I think it is awesome that after this patch hits in the comeing weeks (possibly) I am going to be swamped with things to do for a long while after WotLK is launched and never log in and think 'dailies... again...'

They want the game out soon, they're going to release testable content fast.
Warbane Sep 5th 2008 1:08AM
Awesome, can't wait to see what comes out of the endgame raids. And, in that picture, are the first two options supposed to be death knights (it appears that why from the name) because the class column is empty.
Eliah Hecht Sep 5th 2008 1:11AM
Yeah, it seems they forgot to iron out a few kinks in the copy system. I'm guessing DK too, because of the name and because every other class is listed.
Warbane Sep 5th 2008 1:13AM
Found out more about what the premades will start with:
All characters are level 80 with 4x22 or 4x20 slot bags depending on classes, PvP gear including full set of weapons, an epic flying and ground mount. Exalted with one or two faction depending on classes and friendly with the rest, maxed weapon skills and First Aid. Gear is also fully enchanted.
Premades also come with LK Honor 2 Rings and Trinkets, they're upgraded versions of the PvP Gear we already saw on beta servers.
Looks like they want to start some good Wintergrasp testing, probably will offer some PvE gear later

Doesn't hurt to add the source:

Also, the LK Arena/Honor 1 gear if you missed it a couple of weeks ago:

they never add the source. they want the dummies that think this is an actual news site to think they are breaking all this news.
read mmo-champion and wowinsider becomes obsolete except for fluff articles like "screenshots of the day" and "pick the worst headline for our screenshot of the day"

I'm both excited and disappointed. The premade DK was the exact race I'm rolling my future DK, but the Pally wasn't a Human Male like mine is on live. :

EU copy not up. What a surprise.

OK
I am fed up with these comments of "I can do this and I can do that" in WotLK Beta.
I always defended this game. I am having loads of shit on me because I support it on such nerd sites like MMORPG.COM.
Having 3 accounts and perhaps one of the biggest "active" players promoting the game....
And everyone apparently is in beta except me.
I am leaving the game. I am serious what kind of bullshit is this "we can do this in Beta" if the big supporters can't even join.
So tx wowinsider for letting me join Warhammer, at least I can PLAY there.
vine Sep 5th 2008 2:25AM
wow, chill out mate. The beta distribution is fairly random, and I'm betting there's more deserving people out there who don't have a beta key. Just chill out a few more months then enjoy the content in all it's glory. :) it's just a game.
Warbane Sep 5th 2008 8:38AM
This is one of the reasons they give beta keys to people who attend the conventions. I know there are obviously many more huge supporters who can't make it to events around the country/world, but if they focused too much on only getting the hXc guys in, they wouldn't get the feedback and input from their largest player subset - the casual.
So, while I wish the dedicated players like us could get an autoticket, it works for a better (and quicker) release for everyone in the end.

I totally agree. In fact, I posted this on the WoW forums:
(Source: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=9336872207&postId=95837673649&sid=1#62)
I'm not one to complain very often, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.
I've been a WoW subscriber for three years now. I've since leveled multiple 70s, have done semi-casual pvp, raided through Black Temple, etc. Last month I even went so far as to purchase another copy of the game to benefit from the RAF program. Both of these accounts selected to opt-in for the beta testing phase of WotLK.
A month ago, a coworker of mine called me over to his office to show me he had received a beta invitation by email. I was happy for him. He loves the game, but unfortunately doesn't get to play very often. At most he logs in for an hour or so a week- and often times not at all. Since he received the beta invitation, he has only played 1/2 an hour to create a Death Knight and do a couple of the initial quests. He has not played vanilla WoW otherwise.
Now, I know you all are going to tell me that people are selected at random to participate in the beta testing, but it seems like it would be more beneficial to send the invitations out to people who are actually going to play the game. People who spend more time playing WoW are more likely to give constructive feedback to you than someone who might only log in once in awhile, in my opinion.
Just my $0.02.

wow, this is the most depressing comment on the internet.
I have to agree with jerkules below, all these "I'm gonna play AOC or WAR" comments really reveal the kind of childish blackmail (of sorts) mentality that infects a lot of wow players. Ironically (predictably) these people are the least likely to quit.
also blizz gief me a key cause i am imba and stuff
Armo Sep 5th 2008 2:37AM
Gotta understand where Benny is coming from though. Blizzard have zero loyalty to their veteran players and instead invite people that joined under two months prior to the beta.
StoNe Sep 5th 2008 3:08AM
Err...
Not realy, the point of a beta test is for a random player base. If all beta testers were the most hardcore loyal players it kind of would change the direction of game development, what about casual? casual PvP? casual PvE?
I'm enjoying the beta at the moment, but at the end of the day, it's the same shit you have to do over again when you play it live.
Half the reason I went for a DK is because I cbf lvling from 70-80
But #9 is just some emo kid that is upset he doesn't get special treatment. Kinda glad peeps like that are leaving WoW, less muppets on live.
Patrick Sep 5th 2008 9:56AM
The above guy has a point. The people with multiple account, and been playing wow since realease "should" have a better feel then the new age players. It shouldn't be random to start. They should pick people who would be able to better test content better. Face it, the majority of the people testing now could give a crap about "fixing bugs" they just want to play and see stuff. The older people players or people who have real experience would be the more logical choice in the beta selection... but ya ya i know its not really possible to do that.... but its nice thought at least.
