Naxx-10 loot discovered
The ten-man version of Naxxramas was enabled in last night's beta patch, including loot. And thanks to insomniac beta testers and to MMO-Champion, we now get to see a whole bunch of that loot, including class sets, which is what I'm most interested in at the moment. The class sets aren't quite finished yet – their names are things like "Naxxramas 10 Rogue Set," and there aren't any set bonuses – but it's still interesting to see what sort of stats Blizz is planning on giving us.
Some observations:
- The item level on all this stuff is 200; Kil'jaeden's drops are ilvl 164.
- Given that two tiers are typically about 14 ilvls apart, this implies that when we see Naxx-25 loot it will probably be ilvl 214 or so.
- I know that we've got spell power now, and no +healing, but it still took me a few minutes to figure out why I couldn't find a healing weapon.
- Melee one-handed weapons are doing 143 DPS; by comparison, Hand of the Deceiver, from Kil'jaeden, does 114 (the highest currently available in a one-handed weaopn).
- I don't like to see items with shield block on them that aren't shields (Deflection Band, Waistguard of the Tutor), since only half of the tanks can use them.
- There's an oddly large amount of crit rating on the Priest healing set. Is this a consequence of some change I haven't quite digested yet?
Anyway, this all looks good; go look at the items yourself at MMO-Champion. I can't wait to see what they're going to do with tokens, and to see some of the Naxx-25 stuff start to drop.

'I was referring to the set labeled "Priest Healer Set" ;)'
Those people mislabeled it then. There is no such thing as a "healing set" in Wrath.
my2cents Sep 6th 2008 5:41PM
Yes there is Allok. Set items still come in different varieties for different specs. There's no reason for them not to.
The gear homogenization only applies to items that are drops, so that more people can use them.

iLvl 200 is the same level as Heroic epics, as well as the highest-level craftables in the game so far and first season of arena gear. The badge loot from Naxx 10 is also iLvl 200, so it should be just as good as the gear that drops directly from the bosses.
iLvl 213 is the level for Naxx 25 loot:

There is so much crit on the Priest-healing set, because the disc-healer (which should be usable in WotLK) takes +crit for their shields ...
At least that is what i think.

So far stats are big but distribution is horrible.
Oh ze heaste why do you hunt me?
Zep Sep 6th 2008 1:28PM
What what, they make haste work for Omen of Clarity (feral) and then they take away all our haste!?!?
Tap Sep 6th 2008 1:49PM
I'm confused too. Why would there be separate Priest Healer and Priest Nuker set? The thought the point was to have 1 set for both healing and nuking.
dan Sep 6th 2008 3:59PM
No. The point was you'd be able to nuke in your heal set if needed. Or heal in your nuker set if needed.
koro Sep 6th 2008 2:10PM
that priest set has so much crit on it probably because it could double as gear for a shadow priest. spirit is going to be a must have stat for Spriests since it boosts their shadow spell dmg(and regen) and crit will be more desirable with mind flay being crittable and the damage done to you from SWD reduced via talents makes crit more useful then in the past.
the only stat that really lacks for Spriest's is spell hit.
this is just another part of blizzard's effort to make this game "WORLD OF WALMART". everything is the same, all the time. convenience overrides originality. bleh
GO WAR! WAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!

I like that the heroic epics, high-level craftables and this Naxx 10-man loot is of the same quality.
Not so sure how I feel about first tier LK pvp gear being only slightly lower quality though, since it implies unless Bliz has a trick up their sleeve in a few months honor gear may be better than Naxx gear...

There's probably crit on the priest healing set for the disc healers. Or holy for that matter. I mean...crit isn't a bad thing for us priests, whether it be for healing or dps. Healing wise, it probably benefits disc healing more than holy due to Divine Aegis.
Bootsanator Sep 6th 2008 6:11PM
Yes, crit is getting a big boost for priest healers in wrath. In live, i could care less about crit, but disc healers NEED crit for all their toys to work, and with talents like Serendipity (20% mana cost refund if overhealed >50%) paired with the downranking nerf (you're gonna be using max rank, so better chance of overheal), I don't think holy priests would cry about some crit also :P
I would say, though, that if I was holy, I wouldn't really need all that crit, considering current talents....they really are pushing that Disc tree it seems, and with all the recent talent tree changes, it looks like it might be a viable option...though having more than 1 in the raid would be silly. If more than 1 healing priest, the second and onward should definitely be holy.
...Basically, Disc=Tank healing, Holy=Raid Healing. CoH FTW

Yes, this is beta, yes, they'll probably change... but let's have some fun.
First of all 'Nuker' applies to 1 Priest spec, the lolsmite priest. An Spriest is not a Nuker, we have DoTs and 1 direct damage spell on a long cooldown and the other on a long cast time and both have reduced crit benefits... however, is the 'Nuker' gear any good for Shadow?
The Healer Legs are definitely better for Shadow. Including the socket bonus the Nuker gets +15 crit vs the Healer's +15 Spirit. The crit increase is ~1.2%, meanwhile with 5/5 Twisted Faith the Healer Legs are adding about 5 spell damage all the time in addition to the extra mana regen. Since the socket colors are the same there's really nothing good for an Spriest on the Nuker Legs. If you really want the crit though, that yellow socket can easily hold a crit gem.
The Healer Head looks better for Shadow too. The red gem inexplicably on the Healer gear would allow you to socket in a pure damage gem and get the Spirit buff to damage and regen. Only a few of our spells benefit from haste, however all will benefit from crit now, so it may turn out that the Nuker is better once we see how these perform.
The Nuker Chest looks like the lesser of two evils. The Stam and Spirit on the Healer chest would be nice to have, but doesn't seem to make up for the whacking gob of crit on the Nuker set.
The Shoulders are touchy. They're the only piece with additional hit on them... and a large amount at that, but their other stats are pretty unimpressive. Haste is nice, but the crit and huge Spirit buff on the Healer Shoulders can supply some serious damage output. Including the socket bonus you're looking at +48 Spirit for about an additional ~14 spell power (better than a runed crimson spinel) as well as a lot of crit. Given the spell hit buff on Misery I doubt many Spriests will be running with the Nuker Shoulders unless spells are rolling of mobs like water.
The Healer Hands look like a pretty solid win for Shadow as well. A red socket gives us some additional damage with a nice batch of Spirit on the side.
Sooo.... good thing Blizz is breaking out gear homogenization for all those Holy Smite priests running around out there that are nearly required these days for all those endgame raids... wait, what?
Kalam Sep 6th 2008 9:48PM
The nuker set is meant for Disc priests who can easily switch between crit based healing and smite nuking.
That's the entire philosophy behind Penance after all.

I understand the whole AP scaling thing for Paladin tanks but with 0 Int on every item I've seen where am I gonna get the mana to do any of my great new abilities, am I gonna have to put a couple of healer pieces on just so I have enough mana to get through a pull.
