WoW Insider Show live this afternoon on WoW Radio

Also, all three of us are in and playing the beta, so we'll do another live version of "Ask a Beta Tester" with the people in the IRC channel during the show -- you can join us on IRC at irc.mmoirc.org in the #wowradio channel, or send your question to theshow@wow.com right now and we might answer it on the show for you.
Should be a fun podcast, especially since our little show is one of the "eight podcasts geek gamers shouldn't live without"! (Thanks, Patrick!) We'll kick things off around 3:30pm Eastern time, and you can tune in just by visiting the WoW Radio homepage (as always, if you can't make it, a recording of the show will be available later in the week). See you then!

Sheesh, really?
cant live without?
Honestly Mike, I find your little show in fact ALL of the WoW radio shows severely lacking. The Instance is by far the best WoW podcast out there ( shame they'll be cooped by Curt Schilling when 38 studios announces its IP. )
Your sound quality and production value is very good however and I will give you serious props for that.
Questions:
How did you NOT know you were using Radiohead? Or was that sarcasm? And if so, did you get permission first? If not, aren't you worried about possible copyright infringement?
Granted if you know anything about Radiohead they are the LAST band in the world to worry about copyright infringement, but it's always an issue for podcasters.

A whopping 400 people, wow, those must be huge awards.
Reminds me of back in 1998 when my personal homepage won some random internet award that nobody had heard of. I was so proud *sniff*

The Instance caters to the lowest common denominator. While our line-up is not entirely consistent due to varying levels of experience and equipment, I'd happily put our top shows up against The Instance in terms of production quality, show host personality, content and accuracy of fact. I'm sure there are plenty of people that enjoy The Instance, and good for them, but that doesn't make it an objectively better show. Basically, they've got nothing we haven't. We're just somewhat disappointed that they can't provide a show we can actually learn from. Competition that's outright better is great, but I'll be honest, from the perspective of someone who's done shoutcasting for a decade, and FM radio production and hosting for 4 years, their show is decidedly average in pacing, structure, production and personality. That seems to work for them, since their content is apparently aimed at the decidedly average crowd, and that's cool, they have an everyman show and it that's who it appeals to. I'll stick to our line-up for actual WoW info though. Getting through a show of The Instance is like wading in treacle.
When it comes to the WoW Insider show, it's an unfair comparison. You've got rotating guests every week with varying equipment and talent. They are not experienced hosts, they're not our guys, they don't have the training, nor the experience under their belt. The show's still got a unique format though, and it works, and the people that listen enjoy it. Personally I'd love that every WoW Insider contributor had 10 years shoutcasting experience and a decent microphone, pre-amp and soundcard, but that's a pipedream.
Regarding copyright, we've been operating for almost 4 years, we sorted out our copyright issues a long time ago. We pay the appropriate royalty fees based on shoutcast rates, and if any artists have any problem with the use of their music, they are free to contact us for removal. After 4 years, we've received precisely zero of those requests, indeed, we've had plenty of emails thanking us for using their music and asking if we could play more of it.
But yeah, The Instance vs Blue Plz? No contest. Bring it on ;)

And one thing I forgot, the other podcast on that list is World of Warcast. Now those guys, actually know their stuff.
