Everyone seems to be saying that since moonkins have such "utility" that they do not deserve to have equal dps to "pure" dps classes.
Perhaps these classes should be given a bit more "utility" at the same time. Give everyone dps that can be equal if equally geared and played by equally skilled players. Rather than just giving all the hybrids worse dps, perhaps mages, rogues, warlocks, and hunters should be given other things that make them more raid viable.
An example would be for a mage to have a mana shield that they can throw up on other players. Main healer oom? Rather than having a moonkin shift out and use all their mana, perhaps a mage will use a chunk of theirs. Taking this into consideration, it becomes clear that having utility naturally gimps your dps if it is utilized. If hybrid classes were to already begin with lower dps capabilities, then the difference would be even greater.
What I am trying to say is: different classes and specs shouldn't have their dps butchered just because they have utility. Their dps should go down as a result of utilizing it, rather than just for having it.
