Breakfast Topic: If you could choose your racials

If you haven't already checked out the list of updated racial abilities, you should. Some have been nerfed, others were buffed, and new ones, like the "Voodoo Shuffle" were added. While racials are a nice bonus, they can weigh heavily on your racial decision when rolling a given class. For example, many Horde warriors roll Tauren because of the 5% health increase. This conflicts with rolling the race that you'd prefer combined with the class you desire.
There has been much speculation about what it would be like to be able to choose your own racials, and reader Mike even came up with a talent tree method for doing just that.
If you were given the power to choose, which three or four would you choose, and why? Keep in mind the overall balance which generally includes a passive ability, an active one, and one or two minor buffs to stats such as resistances, health, or professions.

Ugh... people need to stop complaining about racials.
And I don't want to be able to pick my racials, I want them to remain unique to the RACE I'm picking.

Wishing to be able to pick and choose racial attributes counts as complaining since you're not satisfied with attributes of the race of your choosing.

Wyrmking is right.
I think you're all missing the whole point and definition of the word 'Racial'. The whole point is that is NOT individual and that it differentiates races from one another.
Any change, as is suggested above, makes it similar to the whole point of the Talent system.

Agreed. Calling them racials and then allowing you to choose those of other races would be silly.
I wouldn't mind if you made more permanent decisions for your character though.
You make a bunch when you create the character and then none ever again (well, aldor/scryer is permanent-ish)

WotF is by far the #1 best racial in the game, and would be better placed as a 41 point talent.
Warstomp is second, but sticking with the spirit of the post I suppose I can't take both.

This. Except I would want the shadow resistance (even if it is worse than the others) and a leatherworking boost. I'm a leatherworker LOL, and I believe that Shadow will be the majority of endgame damage, fighting the scourge and all. On that note, I think Blizzard knows it is too, since you get less shadow resistance than any other, because it will happen more.

Actually I think more Horde chose Tauren due to the increase melee range they had compared to other races, rather than just the health increase.

True. The increased 'hit box' is also a factor for some hardcore raiders.

On my Prot Warrior:
- Endurance
- Stoneform
- Sword Specialization
- Diplomacy
On my BM Hunter:
- Heroic Presence -or- Bow Specialization -or- Gun Specialization
- Command
- Berserking
- Diplomacy
On my Resto Druid:
- Expansive Mind
- The "Human" Spirit
- The Fall of "Humanity" -or- Will of the "Forsaken"
- Diplomacy

Really, stop pushing this dumb idea. How is it a racial ability if it's not specific to your race and/or not everyone of your race has it? It's just a talent then. Seriously, just drop it, it's a stupid idea.
In the other post he says each character has it's own background so why wouldn't it have special abilities specific to him. HE DOES! It's called TALENTS.
Racial abilities are racial. As in, you don't get to pick em, you get them based on RACE.

Diplomacy is the only one (from another race) I'd like on my Blood Elf Hunter as getting max rep for as many factions as possible is one of my goals.

I Think it would be good if you had one racial talent and then 1 that was class specific because sometimes racial abilities are of no use whatso ever to your play style..

Diplomacy for all my characters, I'm so sick of rep grinds it's not even funny...
I'd also like to see more "Racial" class specific abilities, such as the priest racials spread around. Tauren Warriors get an ability to gore people with their horns. Or Dwarves get a bonus buff for being drunk.
More universal ones such as a shield block bonus, haggling (better vendor prices), and Braveheart (Increased resist to fears by 2%)
