3.0 PTR Character Copy open

In a sign that the 3.0 patch may be nearly upon us, the US PTR Character Copy utility is now up and running. There are no sign of premade characters yet, but it does allow you to transfer 4 of your existing characters to the US PvE or PvP Test realms. As usual, you must have an active Burning Crusade enabled account to participate.
The 3.0 patch, as you may recall, is the harbinger of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and will include many of Wrath's new features, including the new class talents and spells, barber shops, and even the Inscription trade skill. This is a huge step toward the release of the expansion itself, and we'll keep you updated on any further news we receive on the 3.0 PTR and everything beyond it.

Hmm, the 3.0 patch is soon going live....
Does this mean that WoTLK might be upon us sooner than expected?

Not necessarily, Blizzard has nothing to push live to keep some players from jumping to Warhammer. They're rushing ahead though, I don't think they'll keep patch 3.0 on the PTR for months though, they need to get this out quickly.

The 3.0 PTR Character Copy is up, but the client is not availble for DL.
Its a smart thing to do IMO. Instead of having streams of people trying to copy characters when they put the PTR up, have people copy characters early, so its more spread out and doesn't cause their servers to explode.

My account isn't active and I'm participating. Though I did do that scroll of resurrection thing and opted in to beta... so that might be why

so if ive downloaded the patch and the ptr files as well as copied my character, how do i play on the ptr or is this not yet available?

Oh, the US PTR. Well I hope the EU PTR actually has premades unlike last time. I mean I copy one, then copying ends and my copy fails, then a week later it opens again but the copying is delayed until the end of the PTR.
It better actually work this time for Europe

You realize that there's been no official announcement of the PTR opening yet, right? Anyone who starts their transfers now may not actually get them onto the PTR servers; it has happened before.
Way to jump onto the "first! FIRST!" bandwagon there, Daniel/WI.
