PTR 3.0.2 Patch mirrors
Everyone seems to be having problems downloading the Public Test Realm (PTR) client still. This can be a real problem for some, especially if you don't have access to a high speed internet connection all the time. You can read the PTR patch notes multiple times over and still not be finished with the download.WoWWiki has a great list of a few mirrors, and I've linked to the most trusted ones I use all the time after the break.
Please keep in mind that it is always possible, although highly unlikely, that one of these files might contain a virus. You should be running something to scan for viruses on all incoming files, like the free AVG.
See below after the break for the mirrors list.
Recommended mirror list:
- FileFront: 3.0.2 PTR Client, Patch to 3.0.2.8926
- Adownone.de: 3.0.2 PTR Client, Patch to 3.0.2.8926
- RapidShare.com: 3.0.2 PTR Client, Patch to 3.0.2.8926
- Games On Net: 3.0.2 PTR Client, Patch to 3.0.2.8926

Don't forget about extracting the .torrent from the downloader. A properly configured uTorrent (or similar) client will always be faster than the downloader.
(I downloaded the 900mb PTR patch in no time....)

The beta and the PTR are both completely overloaded currently. Don't expect to really be able to play. Blizzard should probably implement queues. A lot of us will be locked out (probably me with my luck), but I can't imagine that there is much useful testing going on with as much lag as there is.

new ptr is sick but for some reason every time i type in my accnt name and pass it says my password is wrong and go to worldofwarcraft.com to get help but i am POSITIVE i am spelling it right i have changed my pass to see if that helped but no it dnt anyone know why or any solutions thanks ;)

If you change your password regularly, you may have the PTR using your old password. Try using your old one, and see if it accepts that?

I think that has to do with whether or not your account made the PTR cut off. It did that to me with 2.4.3 PTR.

well i think i make the cut off ive had the account since before last ptr i plated in that one i think my buddy changed my relm list does any one have acess to tell me what the relm list should be set too? help very apriciated

Check on worldofwarcraft.com to see if your characters have been transferred over successfully. As the current wait time is 3-4 days right now, it's doubtful you and most other people who downloaded the client have any characters that have copied successfully.
If you have at least one character successfully copied and you still can't get in...well, then that's an issue to resolve on the technical support forums on blizzard's site

No problems here. The pre-download patch for live servers gave me tons of problems, but the PTR not so much. Granted, it took 16 hours but it downloaded and works fine.

games.on.net is actually internode's mirror.
So if you are Aussie (and especially if you are with Internode) grab the one from there.

Dumb question... when I've finished downloading both of these files, do I just extract them to their own directory and run them totally independent of my WoW install?

I can not begin to describe how glad i was to see this article. Since im on a college campus it was impossible for me to download the patch via blizzard's peer to peer shit. Thanks wowinsider!

IMPORTANT!:
Are these mirrors both the Win and Mac version of the PTR client and patch?
QwithnoU Sep 15th 2008 2:14PM
EDIT:
The mirror from FileFront I used contained the PTR client for both Win and Mac, but the Patch mirror DID NOT contain a Mac version, only Win. Just FYI.

I have downloaded the 3.x ptr update file, but I can't figure out how to install the thing. This is the first time I have not used to Blizz site to d/l a ptr patch.
