Unless you played a priest before the great Fear-Ward spread, you don't understand what happened.

The basic behind class racials is quite cool, but it was a horrible implementation. This created a lot of imbalances between priests, which many resulted in getting (or losing) a raid spot because of a class racial, not because they were better players.

This was also implemented for Paladins, with similar results. In the Paladin's version, it resulted in one race being better suited to DPS than the other 4 races.
