Around Azeroth: How like a god
Phoenix wings? Avenging Wrath wings? Halo? Olympic tabard? Sxei of <Divinity> on Cho'gall certainly doesn't have a problem with low self-esteem. Sxei sent in this pre-raid screenshot to honor his guild, and its commitment to continuing to raid with the expansion on the horizon. "We are still together progressing through content that will soon be forgotten just for a good time and to get some money for the guild," Sxei writes. "The phoenix wings can represent the radiating power that blood elves get because of their close relationship with their old master Kael'thas, to help empower us as we push our way through Sunwell where our first magic was born." Good luck to Divinity in all your travels! Sorry for the unusual optimism -- Around Azeroth will be back to its usual snark tomorrow.
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards.

Figures. Submit the Horde screen from Cho'Gall. Just another point where Horde beat out Alliance on that server :P

Actually, when referring to "gods" it's not customary to capitalize. Only the judeo christian God demands that you capitalize his name.

Actually, I was not referring to the judeo Christian God. When dealing with Gods one would think that Gods would have earned the capitalization of of their name. You know being a God and all.
Where is it written/documented not use capitalize the G in Gods?
gzub Sep 16th 2008 11:27AM
From Wikipedia:
The names of gods are capitalized, including Allah, Vishnu, and God. The word god is generally not capitalized if it is used to refer to the generic idea of a deity, nor is it capitalized when it refers to multiple gods, e.g., Roman gods. There may be some confusion because the Judeo-Christian god is rarely referred to by a specific name, but simply as God (see G-d#Laws of writing divine names). Other names for the Judeo-Christian god, such as Elohim, Yahweh and Lord, are also capitalized.
Too much time on my hands. I'm at work.

"Only the judeo christian God demands that you capitalize his name."
El oh el. "God" is a German word meaning "good" which is applied to deities. There's no "demand that you capitalize his name." In Judeo-Christianity, the common use of the word "God" is capitalized to distinguish the Almighty from Pluralism or Lesser Deities.

Ahh Wikipedia the dictionary anyone can edit. Just because Wikipedia says it's so does not mean it is. Lowering the G really takes away from the sparkle of being like God. In MGT does the first boss proclaim he is a God in a monotone voice that would use a lower case G? Heck no! He screams it really emphasizing the capital G.
How like a God
There it has been re-fixed.
Barnister Sep 16th 2008 10:53AM
Shakespeare much?

Barnister wins. It's from Hamlet.
"What a piece of work is man! how noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals! "
There you go. Now don't be such a dick.

Can't anyone just enjoy a post? Why are their so many "editor-in-chief" types here?
Always correcting, always nit-picking, - my wife does enough of that for all of us, do we really need it in a blog?
my humble opinion
gzub Sep 16th 2008 11:58AM
Should've been there, not their.
