[UPDATE] WTB fashion sense
I see a lot of the Professions are getting a lot of love lately. Cooking, specially, has been particularly awesome in Wrath of the Lich King, with cooks able to prepare feasts for raids that give excellent buffs. Engineering has been fun, too, although I have yet to see the schematic for my There are over 50 different shirts in the game, 22 of which are tailored. The rest are uncouth styles that are simply too unfashionable for my needs. I've picked up enough Sleeveless T-Shirts in Alterac Valley to clothe an army. It makes me cringe to see Level 70 characters still sporting their original Thug Shirt. Let's get some style, people! There are a good number of shirts to choose from, but frankly, we need Fall fashions for Wrath of the Lich King. I mean, the last great (and saleable) shirt pattern was the Rich Purple Silk Shirt. And that was from vanilla WoW.
Fashion in World of Warcraft has fallen behind. At least, tailor-made ones. Would you believe that there wasn't a single new shirt pattern throughout the whole Burning Crusade? I mean, I know that demons were at our gates and some dude named Illidan was plotting to take over everything we know and love, but come on! Where was my Netherweave shirt? If I'm going to fight a war, I want to fight in style!
[UPDATE: Phooey. So apparently there are new shirt patterns in Wrath. So the joke's actually on me. So you can choose to look like a 90's Eddie Vedder or Dave Matthews on tour. Uh... thanks, Blizzard.]
If we can get cool items like stuff for vanity pets -- those were so awesome that I felt the urge to send a box of Krispy Kremes to Irvine... -- why can't we get something fashionable? Specially in the harsh cold of Northrend, my Black Swashbuckler's Shirt (which isn't really black...) or even my Orange Martial Shirt (which has really black sleeves but is orange everywhere else...) won't nearly be enough to keep me warm and fashionable. Where are the thermal undershirts? Leatherworking got a bunch of fur lining, much to the chagrin of DEHTA.
Never mind that we've got a throng of undead waiting to gnaw at our bones. Let's forget for a moment that we have one of the most powerful beings in Azeroth's history waiting to strike at the rest of the world from his chilly seat. If we're going to Northrend to gear up for a showdown, I want a nice shirt to go along with it. Given that the design team has done an awesome job of lessening our clown gear, would it be too much to ask for new shirt patterns in Wrath? A Thermal Frostweave Shirt, maybe? Because as much as this Lavender Mageweave Shirt goes along perfectly with Crystalforge armor, it's so 2005.

Eh. I came back to WoW after a years break (school comes first) to find I had a Sawbones shirt. I don't remember getting it, and was startled to see that it had a 0.1-1% droprate, considering I did Scholo once or twice.
It goes well with my level 60 rare pvp set too.
Seriously, this thing should be epic.

Agreed, I love my sawbones shirt.

Yes! Where is my [Tailored Pimp Shirt] or my [Collarless Mandarin Shirt]? WTB Fashion!

Hey Zach! May I note that in the Beta, I saw a -Shirt Vendor- in Dalaran, selling over ... well, 12 new shirts! So, I would go check that out first if I were you!

There are new shirts in Wrath. At least two new styles and lots of colors.
Arien Sep 16th 2008 9:28AM
There is a vendor in Dalaran with a ton of new shirts (expensive, mind you). I haven't come across new patterns yet.
I hope they also add skirts or other stuff.

I would love tailoring to get some type of battle standard recipe. Have it just be cosmetic but either placed in the ground, or even just strapped to your back while mounted.

I want a better cup. Some kind of pimp cup with gold handles and stuff. As far as the shirts go, I don't even wear one and the only people who wear Rich Purple Shirts are insecure idiots who think that wearing the shirt makes people think they're rich and the purple is epic. It almost makes me laugh...but seriously, where are the cup upgrades?

There are patterns for lumberjack shirts available from the tailoring trainer in Dalaran. I only saw the yellow one briefly before the server crashed, but they exist.

Quick! Petition the developers! We *need* Arthas to drop a shirt called Long Underwear. The first epic purple shirt and the only epic purple with no stats!
Seriously. We need this to happen.

Are you kidding?
Thug Shirt > All

My main, is a proud owner of a shirt by Niisha!

Actually, there are some new shirt patterns in WotLK. Most are the named " Workman's Shirt" and " Lumberjack Shirt". Several are taught by the trainer, but some seem to come from dropped patterns of unknown source, world drop most likely. A few examples: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=41254, http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=41248, http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?item=41251

I want a black skirt for my bank alt, to go with her tuxedo jacket and shirt.
Birdfall Sep 16th 2008 11:26AM
They could still stand to add a few more. >_>
*loves in-game fashion*

Tailors need to be able to make stuff for the neck slot!
Cravats, Ties, Scarves, etc ;-)
I want to see a Tauren in a bolo tie. A gnome in a bow tie seems... necessary. :-)

Definitely the gayest article ive ever seen on wowinsider. And i dont mean that as an insult or a bad way:).
pudds Sep 16th 2008 4:18PM
My characters are all shirtless. What's the point with armor and tabards anyway?
Cowy Sep 16th 2008 4:53PM
I'd love to see an ability added called: Decommission
(not sure who would get it... enchanters or perhaps tailors?)
The basic idea is that when you use Decommission on any gear piece, the level requirement and BOE is removed. HOWEVER, so are all of its enchantments, and its stats.
It becomes a white piece of clothing (unbound) which you can then trade/wear/sell for novelty purposes.
I have old gear in the bank that I don't use, but I love it for its vintage feel of a bygone era in this game. How awesome would it be to be able to dress my level 1 bank alt in my old sets?
I also have a mule that I would love to put the admiral hat (and matching clothes) on, but alas he is only level 1.
Ametrine Sep 16th 2008 6:21PM
So, basically, it'd be the Tailoring equivalent of the Enchanting ability "Disenchant"? I am in favor of this.
