Collector's Edition and Blizzard Events items will become "Bound to Account"
Jeff Kaplan a.k.a. "Tigole" announced today that the following items will become "Account Bound":- Murky
- Tyrael's Hilt
- Murloc Costume
- All Collector's Edition pets
Kaplan notes that with this change Collector's Edition pets will no longer disappear when you put them into your pet spell book. The spell will still be added, but you will be able to send the pet item around to your other characters on your account.
He does point out that if you've already put your pet into the pet spell book, you won't be able to be refunded the pet on the beta. Of course, that does not apply to the live realms – since the pet spell book isn't implemented in live.
Update: A few people have asked if you can have the Panda, Zergling, and Diablo all on one character. The answer, according to Kaplan, is yes.

So, what does this mean? That I'll be able to send "Blizzard Event" items to other characters?
That's all well and good, but considering very few (relatively) people have Blizzard Event items, and this issue is more focused on CE pets... don't one of these pets get sent to each character on your account anyway?

With the original Collector's Edition, you got your choice of one of three pets per character. You couldn't get all three pets on one characters. Now you can, lol.

do you guys ever post anything BEFORE MMO-Champion does?
just curious.
Reinard Sep 17th 2008 5:06PM
This is a blog, not a news site. Learn the difference and shut the hell up.

@ Native
"nope.
sorry blizz. but this is too little too late. this is nothing more than a half hearted attempt to maintain your stranglehold (nugent ftw) on the MMO genre.
sorry but i logged off and the next time I log in, it won't be your servers and it won't be your game.
Sept. 7th (open beta) and Sept 18th (launch) can't come soon enough." Quoted
Why are you still trolling here? Seriously, Also, this is a blog, not a news website, but apparently you missed the memo.
vlad Sep 17th 2008 5:57PM
nope. thats where they steal all their "news" and just qoute the source to bypass giving credit to the mmo-champion bluetracker.
funny. the bluetracker was down last night and the entire time no articles were written on wowinsider. as soon it was live again all the backlogged "news" magically gets posted here with NO CREDIT to mmo-champion.
why? duh the more you credit them the more pople realize they could just go to mmo and get the shit on time and fresh.
Alchemistmerlin Sep 17th 2008 7:39PM
So why don't the both of you go to MMO-Champion?
Is there any reason to stay here if you apparently dislike it so much?
Or is your life just SO miserable that you need SOMETHING to feel superior about?
B Sep 17th 2008 7:56PM
@vlad
There's no such thing as original content... every blog about wow in the history of mankind will have the same news.
jurandr Sep 17th 2008 11:08PM
maybe wowinsider is a little slow, but they have a lot of original content. Just check out the class things like Arcane Brilliance, ect.
Also, WoWInsider has an RSS feed that I can plug into my iGoogle homepage, which I wasn't able to find on MMO-Champ (probably missed it, but I can't find it anywhere)
Edboy Sep 18th 2008 1:58AM
what's the point complaining about stuff the repost from other sites? At least it's right and easy to find here.
If you want to complain about something, complain about their original stuff.
Marc Sep 18th 2008 7:12AM
vlad is an idiot. All he does is whine. Go away, dude.
MMO Champion just posts the latest news and blue posts. I see breaking news there and then wait for WOW Insider to analyse it and talk about how it changes the game.

Collector's Edition pets are just sent to everyone that you create on a collector's edition flagged account, so that's not much of a change.
However, they should do this for all the TCG loot items. Currently you can only redeem it once for one character only.
Blub Sep 17th 2008 4:52PM
Well, another good change for americans...
Normal people have no chance to get the classic ce, or go on a blizzard event.
Why they dont make this with TCG Items too?
AutumnBringer Sep 17th 2008 5:17PM
That's right, I forgot that americans are not normal people.
We can all go to every Blizzard event. I mean, sure I live across the country from where the events take place - but it's fine because every employer here considers it a national holiday and they keep paying you for the days you're at the Blizzard event. And even if they didn't (and that's against the law, to not pay someone during that time) my landlord would definitely let me not pay rent that month. Airlines also don't make you pay as long as you show them the ticket to the event, which Blizzard sends out in the mail to every US citizen. Good thing, otherwise I'd be stuck without those exclusive pets like the "normal" people.
Sorry to hear your situation is so dire. ¯\(o_º)/¯

"Well, another good change for americans... "
You bet! I just jumped in mah pickup and swung by to our 51st state, France, for the invitational. Boyhowdy, voila!
Blub Sep 17th 2008 6:25PM
I mean "Normal" related to the CE.
@peagle: True story, its the same bulls#@t".
Blizzard needs to find a way for people across the world... for people who cant spend thousands $ for a 1 day trip...
Birdfall Sep 17th 2008 6:32PM
I want TCG items to be included too.
Rational Sep 17th 2008 4:54PM
I'm not sure I understand - does this change take away something or add something? It would be cool if this means I can share my murloc costume with other characters on my account.
Adam Holisky Sep 17th 2008 4:55PM
Yup - that's exactly what it means.
bricks Sep 17th 2008 4:58PM
does this mean I can have the panda, zergling, and diablo all on one character?
