WoW Moviewatch: A GM says goodbye to his guild
While there's nothing particularly outstanding about this video, it's not horrible either. It serves to remind us that friendship is important, even if it's in an MMO. If you're interested in knowing what the end credit text says, check out his Warcraftmovies page.

"It serves to remind us that friendship is important, even if it's in an MMO."
On the contrary, I think that friendship is the *most* important thing there is in an MMO. The best reason why anyone should want to play any MMO is because they like people and social gaming, as that is what the MMO model gives you.
I personally wouldn't even be playing WoW right now if it wasn't the only multi-player game that my brother is really interested in at the moment, and I'm far more interested in my brother than in the game itself.

Tell that to the multiboxers.
I do agree with you, though.

Yeah I'm sure you could really 5 man Orgrimmar, I've never seen 25 man alliance groups get past the Valley of Strength. They must have picked a super off peak time to film this.

Or they just recorded it on a private server

I've left and come back to WoW probably 3 or 4 times now, I lost count. The reason I came back so many times wasn't because I was "addicted" to the game or anything like it, it was because I missed playing the game with all the great friends I had made in the guild I had been a part of for over 2 years. Sure we kept in touch outside of WoW through e-mail and such but it just isn't the same as talking with them on vent while playing.
If not for all the great people I've meet while playing WoW I probably wouldn't even be playing.

I think that's for the majority. They play because of the people they have met in game. The gameplay isn't that special if you'd ask me, but it's the whole community.

I thought the video there was actually pretty epic. These days, I'm sure there's far better videos that could be used to sell WoW but this one really ain't bad at all. I can easily see the storyline of five different heroes, banding together, for one last epic fight against the forces of the Horde. It's a fantasy classic, but the classics are the ones that pull at the heart strings with nostalgia. And they're classics for a reason, they evoke something that keeps us coming back.

Have to agree, this is one of the better WoW movies I've seen. Though I must admit this might partly be due to the savage Soundtrack. Credits show it as Global but band name seems to be Globus. And yeah this is what WoW is about grouping together to do a task impossible by oneself.

I have to correct my self, there are 2 things that keep me with this game. The social aspect and the lore behind the game.
There are just games with better gameplay out there if you ask me, but they either miss the lore aspect or the social aspect.

Another GM quits a guild and a game and makes a lame video. Big deal. Tons of people quit the game, join for the first time, and rejoin the game.
I quit the game for 4 months and came back to level 3 other characters to 70.

That means you havent quited... you just took a break... i did the same but there will be point when you`ll just have to quit once and for all (there is life out there you know, i have seen it)
wolfy Sep 17th 2008 2:57PM
whilst you're more than entitled to your opinion.. freedom of speech and all that.. i can't help but feel you missed the point. yes its been done a million times, yes its not the best video in the world...... of warcraft.. But! he made it for his friends to honor them with a thank you and a final goodbye.
i'd be pretty chuffed if a friend i'd met in wow made a video to say thanks to me and others much like this.
or is it due to the very fact that no-one ever has made one for you that has you in contempt?

Okay video, but I found the religious lyrics a bit jarring in the context.

Summary of movie:
Emoquitting GM and silly Alliance buddies attack Org. Don't see them messing with Saurfang (who would have pwned them). They pick off guards one or two at a time. They attempt Thrall, but don't kill him.
Typical Alliance. Boring. Pathetic.
And you never quit WoW - you only take a break - everyone who quits always comes back.
