Motorcycles finally implemented in the Wrath beta

They're a little buggy, they use some slightly new mechanics. They're about halfway between a mount and a siege vehicle. Your action bars don't change or anything like that, but it is definitely considered a vehicle since a passenger can hop into your sidecar. It's also not Engineering only, but I think that is so they can get extra testing done on it. It's a seriously cool mount, and one I'm pretty okay with. If Azeroth can develop helicopters, airplanes and submarines, they can build motorcycles, too.

yea, deeprun tram has always been around too.
its a personal taste really. i prefer living mounts over carpets, brooms and machines. its nice to escape our common reality and these just make it a little more like boring old normal modern life. not to mention how disney they look.

Mechanostrider much? Engineering maybe?
You're fine with people making magical mechanical dragons made out of arcanite that somehow fly and breath fire and you're upset about motorcycles?
Marc Sep 19th 2008 6:13AM
We don't have steampunk machines in real life.
Blake Sep 18th 2008 1:23PM
Eh, not a huge fan. But I guess I can't complain while I sport my flying carpet.
Max Sep 18th 2008 1:25PM
SO SO SO STUPID.
If I ever quit wow, motorcycles will be my primary motivation for doing so.
It was fine that gnomes had their cute little gyrocopters and stuff... but now that these are out everyone and their brother will be zooming around on a motorcycle. It just won't be WoW anymore...

Damn blizzard for making something fun and kooky!
I mean guns in a fantasy environment is fine with me, but MOTORCYCLES IS WHERE I CROSS THE LINE!
get over yourself
Miko Sep 18th 2008 9:49PM
Just like "everyone will be riding a netherwing dragon".
You see it for a few weeks and then the novelty wears off.
Keyra Sep 18th 2008 2:16PM
Sorry, but guns have been around since the 14th century (actually, even hundreds of years before this in parts of eastern Asia). Harleys, on the other hand...
Marcelo Abans Sep 18th 2008 3:26PM
Seriously, in a totally fictional world where you can do things that could NEVER happen why are motocycles the final straw. Grab a cup STFU and quit. Oh BTW can I have your gold?
Verit Sep 18th 2008 4:49PM
They are engineering only right? My shaman is an engineer - you don't see those engineering flying mounts so much really.
Max Sep 18th 2008 8:03PM
motorcycles IS where I cross the line thank you very much.
Eversor Sep 19th 2008 11:42AM
Oh yes, certainly rockets, tanks and airplanes did not ruin it for you. Neither did massive water pumps, giant robots or freaking teleporting sci-fi fortresses packed with space shamans Oh no. It's the motorcycles.
What kind of stupid reasoning is that?
Max Sep 19th 2008 11:48AM
because blizzard somehow made all of those things fit in. The robots are all magical-enhanced, which makes sense to me. The flying machines were pushing it a little, but most of the other stuff just fit in because it was all steam-punk ish. A world of magic and warfare can justify tanks and siege weapons... but motorcycles are just stupid. I realize maybe there's no logic behind it. But doesn't someone else agree? doesn't it just seem ridiculous to have players putting around on motorcycles?
Eversor Sep 19th 2008 12:02PM
Robots - magically powered? Since when?
By your reasoning, Blizzard will easily justify the appear of motorcycles. Seriously, if you want to rant about useless additions, take DHETA. That is a stupid addition with little sense. Now, leave my motorcycle alone!
Michou30 Sep 18th 2008 1:28PM
April fool?
Arkkoran Sep 18th 2008 5:33PM
What? It's the middle of September.
lotofsnow Sep 18th 2008 1:28PM
Wow, that is pretty lame.
Zoidberg Sep 18th 2008 1:32PM
These look great. There's going to be a lot of questions about them, though.
For example, wowhead only has the Horde version. What's the difference between them?
Noor Sep 18th 2008 1:31PM
Will Blizzard please allow these in Azeroth? They don't fly, there shouldn't be any reason not to allow them...
eillind Sep 18th 2008 1:32PM
lamest thing they've added to wow
