They're a little buggy, they use some slightly new mechanics. They're about halfway between a mount and a siege vehicle. Your action bars don't change or anything like that, but it is definitely considered a vehicle since a passenger can hop into your sidecar. It's also not Engineering only, but I think that is so they can get extra testing done on it. It's a seriously cool mount, and one I'm pretty okay with. If Azeroth can develop helicopters, airplanes and submarines, they can build motorcycles, too.

I could almost tolerate the motorcycle if it weren't for the insanely obnoxious "PWN" blaring on the front of the bike. It's a steampunk world, yeah, yeah.
I don't think it's a steampunk world where everyone uses tired internet memes.
At the very least they changed the description to omit the "Badass hog" part.

The mount is not going to be engineering only in the live game. They have added an achievement to the game for getting a motorcycle (aptly named "Get In Tha Choppa!"). And as they have said multiple times, they aren't adding profession-specific achievements to the game (aside from cooking/fishing/first aid) until they can enable account-wide achievements.

For Christmas sake there is nothing wrong with them. In a world were there are shredders (Mech Suits) Underground Trams( Train) and Gyrocopters(Helicopter) you wanna cry foul as soon as they put in a bike with a license plate with the intials "PWN"...I swear people will cry over anything. If you have a problem with mechanical mounts the Warhammer is thata way ==> oops I forgot they have mechanical contraptions in that game as well , oh well. I heard Candyland is still fun to play with others.

I'm sorry to offend the pvproflcopterpwners, but adding "motorbikes" to WoW is downright absurd. I don't care HOW good of engineers the gnome race are or have become... the idea of seeing a motorcycle in WoW makes me want to hurl myself off the Netherwing Ledge, re-roll horde, and plead insanity. If I want motorcycles in my game, I'd play something along the lines of MotoGP or something with a more modern context. Throwing motorcycles into a FANTASY context is just wrong.

well since the bikes will be in the game I suggest you get jumpin'. Oh and make sure you get some good distance on the jump and hit one of the jagged crystals we dont want you surviving the fall now do we?
I know! I'll get you one of those new motorcycles I've been hearin about, that will definitely get you enough distance and you will look cool while doin it.

Seriously? The short-sightedness of people is amazing. Motorcycles cannot be any worse than anything Burning Crusade threw at me combined. In fact, a motorcycle is okay in a steampunk-ish universe Warcraft is, while dimension hopping spaceships and phasing devices and Netherstorm as whole... not so much. Cut me some slack.

The motorcycles look like they came straight out of American Chopper and not some 'invention' by gnomish ingenuity. And short-sightedness my arse — the bikes are a gimmick and add no real contextual value to the game or the Warcraft storyline, and on the same level as the zebra vanity mounts. I'd like to think that I see things from a broader perspective in both genre and lore, and I'm sorry, but motorcycles just don't do it for me. And if you can't respect the fact that I have my own opinion on the matter, then I suggest you move on to someone else's comment and troll it with your own unique brand of disrespect.

Of course it is just your opinion, but I still fail to see how can you easily accept TBC space crap but not a gimmick mount? It is just beyond me how a motorcycle can make everyone rage this much.
