Too much of a land rat ter make it down this eve? Click on through to our little Pirate's Day galley!
...yarr, I meant 'gallery.' Ach, the captain'll have me hide fer that one fer sure. But don't let that get ye down! Go on, have a fine Pirate's Day!

Actually I think you can find a pirate to enable your transformation at any capital city (or at least, I was able to do this in Orgrimmar).

Talk like a Pirate Day is the dumbest day I've ever heard of. Way worse than Sandwich Day or Boxing Day.
I made Sandwich Day up, but I bet it exists somewhere.

Ye scurvy dog!
Walk the plank, landlubber!
Stormhammer Sep 19th 2008 2:27PM
Avast ye lubber,
When denouncing one facet of the vast nerd fleet, be sure ne'er ta use a porthole reserved fer nerds themselves! Otherwise ya make yerself out ta be a half-witted tosspot of a fool says I! Perhaps ye'd hate it less if you removed the belaying pin from yer nethers and enjoyed the festivites as the rest o' us do!
Yarrrrs,
Capt. Phineus Bartleby Stormhammer

I can't wait for talk like a ninja day.
Yeng Sep 19th 2008 2:00PM
Too bad you'll never know when Talk like a Ninja day is, because a ninja never speaks. :D
Clasifyd Sep 19th 2008 2:01PM
At least somebody got my weak attempt at a joke. Now I don't feel so bad. LOL
Hoggersbud Sep 19th 2008 2:48PM
I made that joke on WOW myself!
Dightkuz Sep 19th 2008 2:00PM
So that's why I saw NPC's and other players running around in pirate cloths!
I thought I had a bug or something.
Jasperwind Sep 19th 2008 2:13PM
I've been listening to this epic song for a few years now. :D

Avast! Ye Mutinous Dogs!
Heave to and thrice up.
I'll keelhaul every last one o' ye lily livered scoundrels!
Ramz Sep 19th 2008 2:28PM
you can do whatever you want because you're a pirate
kabshiel Sep 19th 2008 2:29PM
Curse of Monkey Island is the second funniest game I've ever played.
Starkey Sep 19th 2008 2:31PM
The ones in the cities last for 1 hr; the one from Booty Bay lasts for 12 hrs.
However, I see one problem - you have to be in the 30's to (reasonably) get to BB, but the transformation disappears when you mount. Why go through all this trouble for something that you can't have ongoing for the full time limit? What are we supposed to do - walk everywhere for 12 hrs? Bit of a misstep IMO
GormanGhaste Sep 19th 2008 3:11PM
One, I run my level 10 toons through Ashenvale to get the Ratchet and BB flight points all the time--it's actually less aggro that the wetlands gaunlet.
Two, unlike the Savory Deviate Delight buff, you Can both mount and take taxis with this buff.
IanC Sep 19th 2008 3:30PM
Yar, i be mounted at the moment and i haven't lost my disguise.
Lesley Sep 19th 2008 4:05PM
The Dread version of it ye get from me Cap'n also persists through death. Arrrr. Aye. For those unfortunate mishaps.
weezoh Sep 19th 2008 3:58PM
Might have been like me - it wasn't the mounting that caused it to disappear but the changing of items - either the trinkets when I mounted up or my outfit when entering town; something caused it to fade the costume.
