Interesting items in the data files

- Intravenous Healing Potion. This does the same thing as Mage-summoned Conjured Mana Strudel (except for the whole group), and shares a cooldown with food. Despite the name, I'd say this is not meant to be used in combat. And based on the medical-themed name, I'd say it's probably going to be created via First Aid.
- Wintergrasp Commendation. Apparently bought with marks from Wintergrasp; the interesting thing here, of course, is that these are bind to account (BtA), so you can effectively PvP on one character and send honor to another. Does this open the door for my much-coveted BtA badge-type tokens? I hope so.
- Ghostly Skull. This small pet is apparently sold in Dalaran for 40g, and it looks awesome, in my opinion (see screenshot above -- the skull is in the top-left corner). I will be getting one as soon as possible on my DK. Tacky? Maybe. But I don't care.
I like that Blizzard is going in a lot of different directions in LK; this really seems like more innovation than it was from classic to BC, from items to class skills to world environment. I'm sure there's more cool stuff that I've overlooked. Have you come across anything interesting, either in the beta or on the various sites?

It may be small, but I love the new icons for potions and the various vials used to make them. It's great that they're giving so much attention to the little flavor things.

Same here. They've put a lot of effort into the little "flavor" effects, like new icons. I like that.

Don;t forget that the icons when a warrior changes stances are all new and animated! (I kinda liked the old Defensive stance and Berserker, but the new Battle Stance is great!)
It's like Hunter's Mark 2.0. Some will hate the new graphic, a few will love it, but none will remember the change in 2 years.

Cool new items. Hommina.

Another small thing: Mob, NPC and enemy PC health and mana now show absolute values rather than percentages. Gone are the days of health estimation mods!
I actually don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere on WoW Insider, which I thought was really weird.

Intravenous Healing Potion is currently sold at the first aid trainer in Dalaran.

Heh, yes! And Murray! :)

As smcn says, the intravenous healing potion already exists in game...
And so does the skull. He's sold from the... reagent vendor, I believe, in the dalaran sewers.

Ircasha Sep 23rd 2008 3:17PM
Darn it! Beat me to it . . .
John Sep 23rd 2008 3:42PM
I was really hoping that skull would be named Mort!
Fletch Sep 23rd 2008 1:42PM
The skull instantly reminds me of Morte, the wisecracking skull in Planescape: Torment
Ruxpin Sep 23rd 2008 1:55PM
and here i was thinking about Murray, the demonic talking skull from Monkey Island... :)
cjshrader Sep 23rd 2008 2:29PM
And here I was thinking of Yorick
Fletch Sep 23rd 2008 1:44PM
Hmmm, seems someone beat me to it...

NOOOO! You can't make and item that replaces mage food! What are we left to do in raids then? http://www.worldofwarcraftblogger.com

Go away, spambot!

Since I saw how you encouraged people to buy accounts, I've decided to treat all your useless posts here as what they are: spam, and act accordingly.

It kinda sounds like the Intravenous Healing Potion should be a First Aid's answer to the Lightwell. Are we sure this is a non-combat thing? Bandages are usable in combat (as well as anti-poisons, etc.).... it would be weird if this was not usable in combat.
