WoW Insider Show Episode 56: Mage madness
Just because this last week's WoW Insider Show was prerecorded doesn't make it any less good -- we finally had some excellent Mage talk (Aurdon of ISheepThings.com came on to chat with us), and John "BigBearButt" Patricelli and Duncor and I also talked about lots of other stuff, including (but not limited to):- Wrath's release date and how that came about
- That tough mount achievement and whether it's even possible.
- Why it's OK for motorcyles to be in a fantasy game.
- And lots of other things -- we answered your emails, including talking about the First to 80 titles that got removed from the game and how things are going in the beta, both for Mages and everyone else.
Next weekend, we'll be back live on Saturday afternoon, and Turpster, at long last, should be returning to the studio as well. Enjoy the show this week and we'll see you then.

"My Female Night Elf Hunter". Uhg, UHG. And I bet that's what Mike's Hunter is too isn't it? If so, you should both be ashamed of yourself - I know I am. My first character when the game came out was a Female Night Elf Hunter. I dumped her ass at 37 to go live out my life as a Horde. BLECH

Eh...I'm not too impressed by the new mage blogger. Maybe it's because my main is a mage and I pick up on every piece of bad advice or misunderstandings of the class. For example, in this podcast, he says that currently arcane mages use frostbolt as a filler to use until the Arcane Blast debuff wears off while in actuality, you don't want to drop the AB debuff, but rather weave in frostbolts inbetween AB casts without dropping the debuff for mana efficiency. He also says that blizzard is ok with frost and fire being a straight nuke of frostbolt/fireball, but in the beta/PTR, there is a clear change from this whereas fire now involves watching for procs to cast instant pyroblasts and frost now involves not only instant cast fireballs on procs, but the ability to shatter combo when Fingers of Frost procs (making it one of the most diverse talent trees for a PvE mage in a long time). If only there wasn't a restriction on speakers having a blog. Maybe I should start a blog, lol.
