WoW Moviewatch: Stuck in the World of Warcraft
Yesterday I wanted to impress you all on my first Moviewatch post, so I showed you a very classy, serious movie. Today? Not so much! Instead, today I offer you a good laugh. MTGScreenie brings us his musical and comedy stylings in the form of Stuck in the World of Warcraft. This music video, set to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire," but with WoW-specific lyrics, is a comic ode to the game he loves. MTGScreenie's singing isn't going to win any awards, but I think that makes the song even more endearing and funny, especially when he strains to hit the high notes or runs out of breath because the song outpaces him. The visuals won't blow you away, but you'll see lots of amusing reminders of things you love and hate about playing WoW. Seriously, people, who doesn't love lag and ganking!

That was actually better than many of the cover songs

Do not show anything like this again. Some of us had our sound on :

My ears... :(
I liked the lyrics but the actual singing was like a bad night of Tequila and Karaoke.

Haha that was funny. Thanks

-10 for the very poor singing.
+110 for the great lyrics!
:D

High marks for concept, decent ones for visuals, but if he wants to make it better he should probably enlist the aid of a friend with a better singing voice. Still, cute idea!

Or not.
Do you actually think having even Billy Joel himself on lead vocals would have made this a better video?

Heh. I'm pretty easygoing when it comes to WoW music videos, especially when they're based on songs I like in the first place. It's not going to win any awards, but I've seen worse. The singing needs help, though.

Hahahahaha. My eardrums just broke free and ran off

I think it's evident he's not trying to sing well, he's doing it for fun, and you know what? I enjoyed what he did here. The lyrics really made it for me because it was it was rhythmically in tune with the original.
Well done, sir, well done!

If you want to hear the REAL "We Didn't Start the Fire" World of Warcraft parody, download the Outlandish podcast episode 28 (released 8-25-08) from iTunes. It is the funniest thing EVAR!
Spoiler alert!
(Its about Trade Chat)

i can't harp on his singing, because he's probably better than me. his lyrics and rhymes were great, though. /lol

I thought this movie was bad when it first came out... time hasn't improved it.
He didn't even remove the original vocals!
Or put any thought into his lyrics at all...
Zep Sep 25th 2008 5:57PM
Okay he's not the greatest singer, but it's not THAT painful... I had an issue though when he filled in rhymes with items. There's a billion items in WoW; seems like cheating. Go with zones, famous spells, leeroy jenkins, that stuff.

Wow, didn't know this even existed until a listener of ours submitted it to us today. Yep, I have to say Jeremy's version is better. Outlandish Podcast, Episode 28 on iTunes or the website. Too bad we don't have a video.

you guys should make some stupid little videos for the outlandish songs. For the most part they are the BEST warcraft parody songs out there!
