Theres a new background patch downloading to the WoW game client on the live realms. Its named: WoW-2.4.3-to-3.0.1-TBC-USMX-Update.

Yeah, that's the pre-WotLK patch they said they'd release before the expansion, just like they released 2.0-patch before Burning Crusade. This site has had lots of articles about it in the past week if you want to read more about it.

Well it disappeared then came back. It appears it was an update to the last background download patch. I downloaded mine a while back, but it popped up again. Finished now.. no new 3.0 yet. :(

it is a download of part of patch 3.0.1 so that you dont have a huge download when 3.0.1 does actually come out

it is part of patch 3.0.1 not the entire thing, they have that set up because they dont want the download to be huge and they want people to have it downladed partly ahead of time

yes i get that lol, I'm saying I got it weeks ago or so. And for some reason it poppped up today again and did something else, though I can't tell what. Maybe it means we're getting closer.. :D
