El's Anglin' in Dalaran
My personal favorite thing that I came across was the fountain, as is displayed in the video and previously here on WoW Insider. Various lore characters that have been in Dalaran at one point or another have tossed coins in the wishing well, and they come with quotes from the characters. Characters from the games, the novels, everything, they're there. It's really pretty cool.
The more random things are fun, too. The Hungry Tuskarr buff makes me giggle, and the Wild Magic adds a little "Hrmm, what will happen this time?" to the experience. If you're a Fishing fiend, I definitely recommend hopping over to El's Anglin' and taking a look around. The site has pretty much everything you could possibly want as an angler in WoW.
[ Thanks, Shao! ]

I've been leveling up my fishing lately (350 so far, woot), and El's has been *invaluable.* They do a great job over there.

Took me forever to level fishing, but it finally looks like its getting that much needed love it's been screaming for for ages, sure TBC added some stuff late into its cycle, but it just wasn't fantastic.
About time the biggest time sink profession had something interesting added is all I can say.

El's Extreme Anglin' is a great site. If not for El, I wouldn't have been able to max out my fishing after ignoring it for the first two years. Way to go El!

I agree, I think most fishermen of WoW owe El a pint or 10.

It's about time that El's contributions to the WoW community were realized. Great site and great info!

El's anglin is the best site for WoW fishing. I used it a while ago when leveling my first main's fishing. I'm leveling fishing on my new main for wrath and the site is even better now. Full skill up guides for fishing and cooking.
Fishing can be boring but I find it nice when I only have a short time to play. I can get a few fish and cook it for myself, the guild, or to sell on AH. Some of the cooked foods were worth a lot in the past. (not so much now with Wrath around the corner)
On my old main, I never won the fishing event because I always worked on Sundays. Now my Sundays are free so I'm working on getting the new main all the fishing gear. I think of fishing as a minor alchemy profession. It gives nice buffs but you only get one at a time.

Good job, Alex.
You just made me start skill up fishing with that video. It's 3:40am right now...I started at 1:40am and went from 22 to 200 while listening to Pillars of the Earth. Well, I guess thats kind of a good thing xD

I love fishing. Both in RL and WoW. I have my skill at 225. I still need to do the Extreme Anglin quest.

Dalaran is pretty.
Something about fishing goes here too...it gives me something to cook? Also, it doesn't give me crocodile pets...

I have been tooling around Dalaran fishing. I love getting the magic eaters. the DEbuffs are the best. I wish they where longer.

I recently skilled my fishing up to 375, it was a long journey, but I didn't consider it work. Fishing is very relaxing to me, so it's nice to be able to get my WoW fix, but also do something that's peaceful and quiet. Fishing (WoW and RL) is something you really have no control over - you can add lures, oils, bait, whatever you want..but if the fish doesn't want to bite, it's not going to (or if it's not there to begin with!). That level of uncertainty and challenge is what makes it rewarding to catch a fish and skill up.
Plus, fly fishing with my dad is one of the few nice memories I have of spending time with him, so on a personal level that's why I enjoy fishing and make all my toons fishermen
Ramz Sep 30th 2008 3:54AM
actually, a fish bites after 25%, 50%, 75%, 95% or not at all.
besides, its a shame that they didnt mention the TMNT reference

Its things like this that make me glad I bothered to level up one of my character's fishing to 375... That, and the loot off the current fishing quest. (I'm still waiting for my 2 Ring Blizzard.)
I already know I'll be spending a bit of time when I first arrive in Dalaran fishing.

I wish i kept that coin :(

Recommended to skillup cooking at the same time as you skillup fishing. Many things you catch from fishing can be used to create food in cooking

I have to agree I don't know why I find Fishing in WOW so relaxing. It's a different pace to the rest of life and WOW slow and it allows for some obscurity. I love the ability to just on the bank of a lake or stream and turn up the volume and listen to the water sounds is just gooood:)
I like El Extreme Angling site as well, I didn't use it for leveling up fishing instead I used it to find some dark claw lobster to level cooking. If I could I'd send them a stack of Captain Ramsey's Lager. Yum

Wow, spoiler city and holy crap, Dalaran is HUGE.

Personally, I find that it feels smaller that Shattrath, but there is so much more to do. The shops are smaller, but closer together, so it makes wandering around more fun.

Great video. Thanks El!!
