Patch 3.0.2 release date revealed
If you remember from yesterday, various developers and CMs posted across the official WoW forums that Season 4 will be mostly ending on the day patch 3.0.2 is released. Today, Nethaera posted some additional information: Season 4 will end on October 14th. It was not explicitly stated by Nethaera that patch 3.0.2 will be that day, but two plus two equals four, you know? This is pretty much exactly in line with the date most of us have been guessing here at WoW Insider, but let's be honest. It wasn't hard to figure out, and I'm sure all of you guys were thinking much the same thing. It'll be almost exactly one month between patch 3.0.2 and the release of Wrath of the Lich King on November 13th. It will also be after BlizzCon and not before it, so if anything goes wrong their lead devs can jump right back into work instead of needing to worry about the convention.
So start marking your calendars, ladies and gents. October 9th, WoW Insider meet at the Lost Bar. October 10th and 11th, BlizzCon. October 14th, Patch 3.0.2. November 13th, Wrath of the Lich King.
[ Thanks, Shawn! ]

Awesome day. Go to work, go vote, come home and check out the patch :-D
Naix Oct 1st 2008 12:03PM
Skip the vote and just play. You will get more that way.

Hopefully. Don't want to tempt fate but maybe come home and hit refresh on the realm status list might be closer to the mark.

Canada?

@ Naix
Well, I'm hoping politics won't fail me this time...I know I know, I'm being naive
@Fletch
Haha maybe. But we can hope

Patch 3.0.2 release date....REVEALED!
Well, it's never been stated, but we just put a lot of information together, so it's conjecture, but it's REVEALED!

Don't be sad, companion cube. I'm sorry you had to be euthanized.
It's either confirmed by proxy, or one (or both) of the posts are inaccurate.
Either way it will be great fun playing new stuff, or epic flamewar. Both should be amusing!

Very good, now I know the date and I am certain I will have my hunter at 60 by that time to make the full use of both new talents and faster leveling in Outlands.
Naix Oct 1st 2008 12:03PM
Same here. I started a hunter a few weeks ago just for this purpose. He is 38 now and the pet synergy is really starting to show. I figure I should hit 58 or 60 by the time the patch goes live and then keep leveling to 70 in another two weeks. Just in time to run Kara a few times and hopefully get that bow. Then just keep rolling until 80 in wrath.
It's good to be a hunter.

Maybe I'm totally blind but WHERE was the date "revealed" by a blue poster?
Chris Anthony Oct 1st 2008 12:04PM
Read the previous post. It's got the two clues you need for this deduction:
* Eyonix said that Blizzard was going to take a snapshot of the Arena ladders on patch day, just before they take the servers down for maintenance, and call that the end of the season with respect to the ladders.
* Nethaera said that Blizzard was going to take a snapshot of the Arena ladders on October 14, and call that the end of the season with respect to the ladders.
You can easily deduce that patch day and October 14 are the same date.
That being said, this is just projected; Nethaera is hasty to point out that the date could change without warning.

13 more days to make Class Balance look like something decent.
13 more days before I decide to quit WoW or stay.
because after todays news things are looking more grim for WoW.
(I could add a game of guess my class)
VSUReaper Oct 1st 2008 11:51AM
Hmmmm, complaining about balance... you must play a shaman!
VSUReaper Oct 1st 2008 11:51AM
Or a fury warrior - sorry for the double post.
Naix Oct 1st 2008 12:02PM
Yeah Shamans are quite OP. I would cry with happiness too if I had rolled a Shaman.
Xino Oct 1st 2008 11:57AM
Looks like your quitting then because they don't plan to have that finished until just before Wotlk ships or even in some worse cases after it ships.
Amaxe Oct 1st 2008 12:22PM
Shamans OP? What are you smoking Naix?
let me guess you never rolled one before, and base your information of the Pre 2.0 patch when there were a few exploits that were closed.
superfrank Oct 1st 2008 12:23PM
OMG it's emo elmo!
Naix Oct 1st 2008 12:36PM
Yes Shamans are still OP. Shamans rock the dps in BGs, PVE, and Arena. Shamans dps and healing are in high demand for 5 mans, heroics, and raids. No other class can DPS, buff the group with 4 buffs, come back from the dead, and heal themselves. So many bonuses. Before wrath the gear was garbage and Shamans were so so with such crazy stats Shamans dominate.
