The analysis in this post is interesting, but plainly off target. Simply put, Blizz has a long track record of being concerned with how to keep the highest volume of players engaged for the longest possible time. If they were concerned with high end raid composition they would have tuned high end raids. Drastically reducing the health of all raid bosses gives the entire player base access to higher level content than they have now, or if they are at the top of the end game content, this nerf keeps them there, and makes it easier as well.
