Around Azeroth: Furbolgs in outer space

Once upon a time, there was an Alliance-only quest item that turned your average ugly night elf into a beautiful, sleek-pelted furbolg. Word got out that the item itself was much more valuable than the quest reward, and Allies across the realms chose to leave the quest unfinished, so as to keep their magical rod intact. They used it for boss kill shots, dance parties in Stormwind, and, in the case of Hutsun of <BoB> on Bronzbeard-EU, manned space flight.
But dark times were coming, as the Overlords announced that the rod would soon only be usable in the area of the original quest. Lo! There was a hue and a cry, and many idle threats that no one would read were posted on the forums. And the cry was so loud that the Overlords changed their mind, and the rod would be left as it was. And there was much rejoicing.

I hadn't even heard that they planned on nerfing it. I would have died a little inside had that change made it through.

I had heard about the nerf, but not the repeal of the nerf that came 1.5 hours later. Wierd.

I play Alliance and nelfs are pretty damn ugly, especially the males.

I tend to agree. My main is a night elf male, but as cool as he is, he looks perma-angry that he was born ugly. :-)
Perhaps a new haircut will improve his self-esteem? At least his hair is a nice shade of blue. Gotta have blue hair, man.
Anyway, I'm thrilled to hear that Dartol's Rod won't be nerfed after all. You never hear the good news, ya know, only the bad.
Now if we could just get a few animations while in Furlbolg form, that would be the icing on the cake. And yes, give to to the Horde. It doesn't nerf my joy to give some joy to the other side.
Oh well, I can dream. Still glad to hear it's not nerfed, though.

I'm still not very happy about the change to the Abyss Shard. That was the one trinket that any warlock would be smart to hold on to... now, it's worthless to anyone who has moved into outland gear.
