Can you please explain to me how Maelstrom Weapon is useful to an Enhancement Shaman because, honestly, I don't see it? I was actually trying to figure this out last night.

In its current form it can still cut down casting time signifcantly, allowing you to throw a much needed self heal, or a spell you wouldn't otherwise use like lightning bolt or CL because of the cast time. If you have a full stack of MW on, CL can become the shaman's version of Divine Storm. But yes, it's much less awesome now.

Well when I tried it in early PTR, it was useful for an Instant Heal in the middle of combat. Of course back then it was based on Crit, which was 30% for me. Useful when a pull goes bad. Now? I'm debating where to put the points I had allocated there

It WAS useful when we could cast LvB with a guaranteed crit (consimung Flame Shock) doing 100% crit damage. It added a lot of damage, added another dynamic to SS->ES->Autoattack and wait for WF, and frankly was quite a blast. But between the massive amount of scaling problems, the highly debatable "caster gear" being better, and a bunch of Shaman saying "Me want smash, magic bad" despite having a mana bar, it was nerfed into the ground to be, well, useless now. As was Imp SS. Who needs more charges if you can't eat the ones on the base talent before it's refreshed?
