So... what's the point of maelstrom weapon now? I thought it was meant to be a new stormstrike - a signature attack with excellent synergy. The way I read it, MW was going to break up the monotony of the whole Flame shock - Stormstrike - Earth shock cycle.

I feel your pain, brother blogger. MW had potential to be a lot of fun and make shamaning interesting again, and now it's just kind of flaccid.

I'm not in the beta or anything so I can't comment for certain, but by the sound of it the end of the Enhancement tree is turning into yet another garbled mess.

There's still a month or so of beta left, so hopefully we'll see a bit more synergy within the spec.

Remember though, we're getting the new talent tree with the patch (unless Blizz changed that and I didn't hear)

You're pretty much right. Maelstrom weapon does indeed bite now, and I honestly dont' care to use it, now.

It really hurts when how excellent it was.

But what hurts more is the Improved DW reduction. God that hurts. I had to regem completely and my DPS is on the damn ground. Painfully sad.
