Tenacious D discovered Northrend first
For what ever reason I found myself looking at some Tenacious D stuff the other day, and came across the Wonderboy video (you'll have to visit YouTube as we can't embed the video due to copyright restrictions). Wonderboy is a great little song, completely safe for work and young bucks (however pretty much everything else that comes out of Jack Black's mouth is not).In the video they are going on "The Quest" for truth. And where does this quest take them? None other then high above the mucky muck. This mountain region has a surprising look and feel to it.
That's right. The D discovered Northrend, before any of us.
But wait, there's more.
There's even powers that The D posses which are featured in Northrend.
What powers are those, you ask?
How about the power of flight? Does that do anything for ya'? That's Cold Weather Flying.
How about the power to kill a yak, at 200 30 yards away – with mind bullets? That's Mind Blast, Kyle.
And how about the power to move you? That's all the new music in Wrath of the Lich King.
So as the release of Wrath approaches, just remember who you have to thank for discovering this mucky region of Azeroth – none other than Wonderboy and Young Nasty Man.
Rigga gu gu. Rigga gu gu.

The D have got to be titans.
Mainman Oct 4th 2008 6:19PM
Remind me to bring my [Broadsword] and be on the lookout for Hydras. There's supposedly a quest where you collect their scroats...

Someone should post this as a suggestion on the beta boards.
There should be 2 NPC's in Northrend somewhere.
Wonderboy and Young Nasty Man.

Yes! ...I always think of Northrend when I hear the D.
kinda like how TB thinks of the Jonas Brothers when he plays Spore.

I'm curious about where exactly in Northrend there will be 'blasting out with three part harmony'... sounds kind of fun. And dangerous.
Nathanyel Oct 4th 2008 8:27PM
When I heard "three part harmony" again, I thought:
World of Warcraft, Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King.
Sikachi Oct 4th 2008 7:29PM
"The power to move you?" I would recommend looking up the blue plate belt, the Tenacious Defender. =P

And the shiny demon makes you fly.
haiduk Oct 4th 2008 9:27PM
It's not that they discovered it first, but that they were making fun of it /before it ever existed/.
Ryan Oct 4th 2008 11:36PM
Just so long as we won't be forced to grab a hydra's scrote. That part sounds a bit less pleasant.
Trevor Oct 4th 2008 10:25PM
Am i the only one that Thinks of the old Video Game "Wonderboy in Monster World" for the sega? Everytime i hear that song.

No coincidence the blues at Blizz have similar abilities. They also don't appear to be afraid to use them... Zarhym responds to posts using mind bullets -- the same mind bullets that are used to kill a yak from 200 yards away.
