We want your Beta UIs
Reader U.I. of the Week is looking for your user interfaces that you're using in the beta right now. With Wrath of the Lich King and patch 3.0.2 around the corner we want to get the word out there to everyone about what is working and what isn't in the upcoming patch, and what better way to do that then to show off what other readers are using!Send us screenshots and some information about your U.I. to readerui@gmail.com and you might see it featured here soon enough!
We'll also be compiling a list of working addons for the upcoming patch, along with where you can get the latest and greatest versions when the patch drops on October 14th. With a little bit of work all your addon needs should be a-okay come patch 3.0.2.

I'm almost dreading the patch for this reason. I've been playing on alts with as few addons as I can manage to help ease the shock that comes every huge patch...

I'm playing on the beta (and I'll continue with it on live) with almost no addons. On the beta, I'm minimizing things that could crash my client. On live, I'm keeping my interface as clean as possible, so I can admire Northrend without a million windows in the way :)

Here is a pretty up-to-date list of working addons.

I've been using dominos, x-perl and Icehud. Icehud is kinda borked atm, the bars are working fine but the text displays aren't showing properly, the author seems MIA as well.

That sucks. I love IceHUD. From VSUReaper's link above, I see that Dr Damage and Talented don't work either, and EngBags isn't even on the list. *sigh*

Actually I found a working version on wowace's list of addons. For some reason wowinterface hasn't updated their list.

What UI is being shown in the screenshot above? Thanks!
Eternauta Oct 4th 2008 6:50PM
Maybe this is pretty obvious, but:
WoW's default UI sucks!
It' been several years since the game released.
Hasn't Blizz realised it yet?!???!!?!
I'd really like that they incorporated the most popular addons' functions into the default UI. (For example: Bartender, Fubar and it's plugins, Cartographer, Pitbull/X-perl, a VISIBLE threat metter like Omen -though at least they're doing something about it- etc...).

Been using about 75% of the mods I use on live, when the patch hits I don't think addons will be hit as hard as some think since most developers are already tuning their mods for it.
Cy Oct 4th 2008 8:38PM
When you do eventually post a mod list, please keep in mind that files.wowace.com is no longer being updated since the curseforge transition/merge.
Keeping track of mods is going to be fun come 3.0.2 when everything breaks....
Tekkub Oct 5th 2008 1:23AM
Everything? Funny, all my addons still work...
daedhir Oct 6th 2008 1:54PM
The upgrade isn't yet complete. They're still ironing out bugs, so files.wowace.com is still up for a while.
Cy Oct 6th 2008 5:34PM
@daedhir: True, but they have stated (at least as of a couple days ago) that no new updates are being pushed to files.wowace.com, so it's useless to use that to keep up with the latest changes.
Wistin Oct 6th 2008 8:52AM
I haven't bothered to get anything until it actually comes out.
