Main flaw that came with BC is that WoW became easier than ever.
They changed leveling in such way that you can reach 60 without having grouped once, leading to awful groups.
Epic grow in trees and as said earlier, the hardest thing to achieve in the game is to make a pug, and make it successful.

You could level to 60 pre BC without grouping, too. It just took a little longer to get through, and the traveling took longer with mounts coming later, but there's no difficulty to it beyond finding time to play. In fact, I had a hunter I played whenever I was feeling antisocial who did just that. His gear sucked, but it's just a time grind.

I leveled my Hunter to 60 (and then in BC to 70) without having grouped once.
I was always a welcomed party member at endgame and one of those Hunters considered "the -good- ones".
The same goes for my Warlock.
People need to stop blaming someone's inability to play in a team on game content.
