Upper Deck announces new "Drums of War" TCG loot cards
The latest WoW TCG expansion pack, the Drums of War, hits stores in late October (the 28th, to be exact), and Upper Deck has revealed three new loot cards that will come along with it. These are pretty wild.- Slashdance is a super common card that will give you a party G.R.E.N.A.D.E. that, when thrown, will explode into a dance party on any unsuspecting characters who happen to be standing around.
- Owned! Flag is probably my favorite -- it lets you plant a flag, Emissary of Hate style, with a "thumbs down" flag in your conquered opponent.
- And The Red Bearon will give folks who missed out on the War Bear another chance -- it's a black battle bear mount.
But that Owned! flag is nuts. Hopefully that's not the only flag we get to stab into corpses in the future -- even if the" thumbs down" stays TCG only, I'd be a big fan of stabbing someone with a Horde flag.

:O
Bear mount! :)

From the screen shot it is NOT the ZA bear mount in a diff color.
It looks similar to a northrend bear mount, which will be avail to all players soon...just a diff color.
so UNLESS the screen shot is wrong, everyone can relax about comparing it to the ZA mount.

Wasn't the drums nerfed?
jpfeeney285 Oct 8th 2008 10:36PM
That flag is epic, its only for the lulz.

DING! Turkey's done!

That "Owned" flag is going to become exceedingly annoying. Funny as hell, sure...
...the first time.

Atleast it's going to be on a 15-minute CD. /:
anyone know if it will be usable on PvE mobs?!

I've seen one person with one piece of TCG loot, EVER. A member of the opposing faction had a disco ball in Shattrath.
I doubt the flag will be terribly common; maybe overused in the few BGs it's actually brought into, but a rather rare occurrence otherwise.

Really? Everyone on my server has one. Not only that, a large percent of them as well.

The G.R.E.N.A.D.E. is idiotic. It's completely out of place on RP servers and will be used to grief RP events.
Real bad going on this one Bliz. You deserve your own thumbs-down flag.

No worse than that darned piccolo that people loved to spam in the AH and such. While I personally don't like the idea of my character being forced to dance at all without me doing /dance whether it be from that piccolo or this new grenade, it's still harmless. and at least the grenade won't have that annoying repeating music over and over...
Tomah Oct 8th 2008 11:25PM
MUCH less annoying than the new Toy Train that makes everyone spam the /train animation and sound.

That's the best reason to use the Slashdance! If anything the RPers can blame it on sorcery or demons or something.
Besides just laugh it up, it's not like your characters are getting killed by Warlock infernals or exploding pets.

So will buying boxes of cards be cheaper than forking over the gold to get an Amani Bear was?
At least you can sell the other cards...
Sunny Oct 9th 2008 2:08AM
I'd hapily take those other cards off your hand. :)
Lemons Oct 8th 2008 11:58PM
I hope you can throw that flag down in arenas LOL, oh how pissed the other team will be!

Glad to see the continued policy of giving the coolest items away for cold, hard cash. God bless America.
Moxxy Oct 9th 2008 12:07AM
I wish it were simply cold, hard cash. That I would do. But its the random nature of the cash expenditure that grinds my gears. And I know I could EBay it... but hundreds of dollars is a bit much.

Those are not THE coolest items.
The coolest items are:
* Brewfest kodo
* Cthun Tentacle
* Flying eng Mount
* Flying carpet
* Deathnight land mount
* Firefly pet
* Grand caravan mammoth.
Those are just items you cant have, thus you want more.

What are you talking about? I could have the TCG rewards easy if I bought them online. I just find it lame that all the goofy little fun things are availiable by paying real cash for them instead of, say, from a proffession, a quest, or something from the game.
It bothers me on principle.
