WoW Moviewatch: Unbroken - Prelude
Holy moly, Firebolt Productions just keeps coming at us with high quality films! We only recently just saw them win fourth place in the WeGame contest and now they've already got a teaser out for another film. Johan Vagstedt says that Firebolt is apparently in the process of making a "huge machinima project" called Unbroken and today's feature, called Unbroken - Prelude, is the teaser for it which they've entered into the BlizzCon movie contest.
This film follows a council of Orcs led by the "very special" Gul'dan, set a short time after after the Dark Portal was opened by Ner'zhul, trying to decide if they will join the Burning Legion. Later in the film, we also see a glimpse of the Draenei side of the story.
This film is, quite frankly, one of the most highly-polished pieces of machinima I've ever seen -- from the lighting to the camera angles to even the facial expressions. I highly, HIGHLY recommend -- no, I demand -- that you download the full version of this movie from Filefront -- it's simply incredible. I can't wait for the full version!

Wonderful! The title fooled me for a second, I was so hoping it was a machinima telling of Nobundo's story, but this is pretty good in its own right! Looking forward to the full verson, yes.

Has there been any machinima that portrays earl yWOW lore by any chance?

Since it says it's based on "the novel" and features both the story logo and the story's tagline ("everything that is, is alive"), I assume it is ultimately about Nobundo and that's the draenei we see at the end.
I am a little confused. Is that Gul'dan in the Destroyer armor? Why isn't he, uhm, the character model for Gul'dan that's in the game? Seems odd to put the most infamous warlock in Warcraft in warrior armor. *L*
It does look very nice, though.

Most excellent example of how good a machinima can look even with out heavily stylized features. Course, even on movie watch we've seen a couple of real niffty trailers, and I can honestly remember seeing a finished product coming from any of them that continued to look as good.
Heres hoping this one sets the bar.

Nice, one of the better ones I've seen. Did get a little confused who was saying what during it though.

Hmm they mentioned how powerful Shamans were in the film...how interesting.

Very impressive! I would LOVE to see more lore-based machinima.
I wonder if they'll show the orcs as brown-skinned before their little cocktail party at Mannoroth's expense, though...

Ok, I don't know much of the lore and all of that behind WoW but am luring more as I go but the quality of this is amazing. I loved it and look forward to seeing more.

Hey everyone, thanks for all the great comments :)
Yes the actual movie is about Nobundo and the Draenei, and the orcs are portrayed as the bad guys. Because.. they were ^^.

I can't wait to see the full version of this!
One quick question though - what was the music used at the very beginning?
A really great job to those who made this!
