BlizzCon mount not usable until after BlizzCon
Another quick note here, which I'm posting because the team at BlizzCon is at the Lost Bar right now (I make absolutely no promises as to the sobriety of anyone involved); we've found out that the polar bear mount plus attached flag-bearing murloc given to all BlizzCon attendees and DirecTV subscribers isn't actually going to be usable until after the convention ends. I've just confirmed this with a friend of mine at the con who's logged into the game from his hotel's wireless as well, so this answers a few questions we've gotten about where are on earth all the mounts are with so many people attending BlizzCon or how to get them working ingame. So if you're headed back to your home or hotel and you've been hoping to get your mount (or, like me, you've just been waiting to see it), hang tight for a few days. With BlizzCon ending late Saturday, hopefully we'll see them active in the following week.

It would make the most sense that they patch it in on the 14th with the 3.0.2 patch, wouldnt it?
Eopie Oct 10th 2008 2:41AM
Perhaps.
Though I don't think that a download (or one that comes in the form of an actual patch anyway) is required to patch in something like this. I may be wrong however.

I was under the impression it was a passenger mount so that would make sense to me too.

Is it still possible to subscribe to the DirectTv-Stuff? And if so, can I subscribe from Europe, or do I need to be from the US?
Mohrlock Oct 10th 2008 3:29AM
Not the only one that wondered that :) It's for US only... unless you can get a friend to allow to use his details, but he get's the TV that you pay for and you get some virtual "novelty" in game items... not a fair trade is it?!

Available in Australia thu foxtel main event ppv. You have to register on the main event site to get the mount...it says may take up to 8 weeks to confirm that you purchased both days of blizcon and send you your code ( for the bear). Kinda seems a long time...2 months.

I ordered the Directv PPV on Oct 1st, and I have yet to see an email or anything with the code. Does anyone know how/when the code for the mount will be given out to us Directv subscribers?
Lokai Oct 10th 2008 7:26AM
From what I understand DirectTV will be mailing you (snail mail, not email) a Card with the code on it. They also say expect a 4-8 week wait for it to be delivered.
Tinwhisker Oct 10th 2008 9:37AM
That stinks, I've actually got to pay attention to my mail now?
So much for the ease of doing everything online.

@ Lokai, Where did you get this info from about it being snail mail. i emailed Blizzard and they said Direct TV would Email the code.

I'd just like to point out that the correct caption for that picture is:
"Bear Cavalry. Yeah, you're pretty much f*cked".

That picture is one of the most awesome things i have ever seen.

It was announced during the PPV today that DirecTV will be mailing the mount cards, and to allow 8 weeks for delivery.
