Ghostcrawler, a.k.a Greg Street, is the lead game systems designer for WoW. Basically that's designing the classes and other systems in the game.
He handled the crowed very well. He probably could do some stand up with his wit. When people booed about something they didn't like he'd make a joke and have them laughing the very next second. Perhaps the best moment is when he jokingly said to a question about retribution paladins: "Don't nerf me, bro!"
If Blizzard wanted to make an impression that they're listening to their fans, they most certainly did with not only having him moderate a great discussion on the beta forums for the past several months, but also please the crowd during a great class panel.
Kudos to him, and the people at Blizzard for allowing him, to casually and honestly interact with the fans.

Maybe people here are getting confused.
As far as I know Ghostcrawler has always been male, it's Koraa, I think, that's a female.

Who the hell cares? lol. I knew ppl got carried away with female players, but even female devs.. so basically you'd hope to maybe get laid with Ghostcrawler?
Try to focus on what he does rather then his gender.

I'm guessing that most of the boos during GC's session were from hunters. Seems that most other classes have man-crushes on GC. Gotta say that he handled himself well though.

Ghostcrawler is AKA Deathshrimp from Ensemble Studios.
He was well known among the Age of Empires community for a LONG time for the same things he's becoming known for within the WoW Community.
He was a designer for Ensemble Studios for about 9 years and worked mostly as a designer on the "Age of...: series of games starting with AOE2.
He also a Marine Biologist hence the shrimp in AOE and crab in WoW.

I'm sad he is not female. I was so happy that for -once- a female in a big game company was not in the pretty-pictures-for-our-covers department, but in a leading design position.

So am I to be honest, I'm not a women but I feel that game developers need a change of pace and I feel more females should get into the game design industry.
Playing video games simply isn't enough anymore.

I believe he's a developer to be honest, he talks on the forums like he is one, he uses "we" a lot which means he must have some sort of say in any decision made to do with classes.
I also find it funny how most of the forums thought he was a women, even I did (not originally but everyone called him a "she" or "her" so it kinda caught on). So yeah, he got owned in that regards.
As far as I'm concerned, his looks do not concern me so much as do his opinions. He can't develop classes for shit, no class is balanced. All are either underpowered or overpowered and the problem could've been fixed ~5 years ago, were though? No. Hell no.
He's like Tom Chilton -- a bloody idiot.
