BlizzCon 2008: More Wrath in-game footage
Blizzard has release more footage of Wrath zones and encounters at BlizzCon this weekend. To say this is spoilerish would be obvious and accurate, but we must say it for those wishing to experience these encounters for the first time in-game. But for those who do wish to peek into Northrend, this video is high quality and well-edited.

Good to see they managed to recycle those Silithid/Aqir flying bugs.
I know they didn't want Northrend to be all ice and snow, but that tropical jungle is a little too far fetched.
Guys, *nobody* misses STV, k?

1) Sholazar Basin. Read up some lore on it, it'll make a bit more sense. Also keep in mind this is sorta kinda a fantasy game.
2) STV is my favorite zone. That aside, Sholazar is based more on Un'Goro than anything.

Sholazar Basin was always a part of Northrend, in the lore. It's like Un'goro Crater, an old Titan petri dish for creating new life.
All of the zones were layed out and described way back, for the Lands of Mystery RPG sourcebook. Some have been altered somewhat since then, but by and large, they still match the original descriptions.

Wow, amazing video.
Blizzard's incredible art style is one of the things that keeps me coming back to WoW instead of other MMOs.

Im clearly not an expert at capturing video game footage, but i've been around a few high res ones, why are these in such horrible resolutions, I have a 1920x1200 fully HD capable monitor but im forced to watch these horrible quality videos.. anyone have some insight or some answers, and I realize sometimes it could be a bandwith issue, but sites like gametrailers.com pulls it off why can't whatever site this was linked from do the same?

Lol at the windows beep in the middle of it...
But seriously, I am in awe of the quality and creativity Blizzard has been able to maintain. Everything is a massive step up from TBC. Not only the graphics but the amount of variation they've implemented throughout the zones while still giving the cold Northrendy feeling is a magnificent feat. The raids and instances look well polished as well. Very nice job Blizzard, impressive.

Shame they didn't have on the improved shadows. Could really show off how the graphics looks now and how much things have improved.

Wow, looks like almost every other zone Blizzard has made. Re-used models, too. It all looks the same. There is no creativity here that I can see. I imagine the game mechanics are all the exact same as well .
'Hey there, Nightelfdemon! My grandma is sick, and I heard that the Purple Elks around this area have a cure for her ailment. Could you gather, say, 10 Purple Elk Livers?
---
Bingle Sprocketfire wants you to get 10 Purple Elk Livers.'
Or, the time-honored 'Kill 10 Green Bats. Okay, now go kill 10 Giant Green Bats. Now go kiull 10 Big Mean Green Bats, 5 Spikey Mean Green Bats, 3 Wizard Spikey Bats, and 1 Undead Monster Gigantic Impossibly Awesome Big Spikey Mean Green Bat.'
SNORE.

Having been playing the beta for a while, I can say that there are hardly any reused terrain models or doodads -- the trees, waterfalls, rocks, buildings, just about all of them are brand new. There are some reused wildlife, stags, bears, and such, but even the wolves, furbolgs, worgen, and skeletons, etc., have new, improved models in Northrend.
But, whatever, you just seem to be looking for excuses to complain.

I can't wait!

That's alright. You folks just keep on running in your little hamster wheel. Keep mindlessly grinding away for hours. It's real-world life in an MMO - grind, grind, grind for that new car, or that promotion, or that raise, or that trip. Grind, grind, grind away for that house or that TV or that home theater system.
