I played Wintergrasp quite a bit in the beta. It IS everything it's hyped up to be, but Blizzard KILLED it with the 2.5 hour timer. there was a period of :30 timers, and it was great, a constant persistent World PVP. Once they switched the timer I barely got any chance to play it.
I mean, for people who work, you come home and can MAYBE get in one battle. Maybe, if your timing is right.
World PVP: one step forward, two steps back.

I agree completely. 2 and a half hours is too long. ONE hour is too long.
That said, the article is correct, I've seen Horde attempt to attack the gates while we bombarded them with cannons or just stand there while I pelted them with Starfires from one of the overlooks on the vehicles.
More importantly, I don't think most people understand what's going on when they enter the zone for the first time, since most people who end up in there end up in there like I do, by accidentally flying over Wintergrasp on the way to somewhere else.

The 2.5h timer is there so people can access the content offered for winning side. Dailies, Raid instance, Vendors etc.
