I just started playing last year. My main is a lvl 48 undead lock. I've never even been on a raid, and I guess when WotLK hits I won't get to see any of the old ones.

Lot of people never have. I was just turned 60 when BC first came out, so my warrior never saw Onyxia, or MC or a lot of the others. Never got beyond Scholo, UBRS/LBRS

Read a guide and learn to level. It is possible to get 1-70 in a few weeks if you put your mind to it. There is no excuse to being 48 after a year. Level one char to 70 and not 8 of them to 20.

Or find a guild willing to do the old stuff. Not every guild in WOW is going to drop pre-BC or BC raids to run into Utgarde Keep and beyond. Hardcore raiding guilds are already finished or nearly finished with BC content and will be first inside the doorways. For a lot of us, however, the joy in the game is getting there. I run a guild that just finished stepping into all pre-BC endgame instances, including Naxx. Yes, we raid BC stuff, but our primary goal was to see the content we didn't get to see before. With Wrath, that is going to include BC and Sunwell instances. Not every guild is faced with Illidan and members tired of the grind. That being said, I have people who are tired of playing and have cut way back. It's about real life versus a game. It does mean we can't always run things because we lack a tank or a healer, but I encourage my guild members to take time for themselves because once Wrath hits, they are going to want that shiny level 80 by their name and that Death Knight in the corner. My advice is take your time and see what you want to see. It's your nickle. You don't have to go form 1-70 in a week. I have guild members who have tried to do every quest they could find in a zone as they level and, in 6 months, are still not at 70. They have had a ball and that's what's important. If you can't find a guild to your liking on your server, check out Spectacular Death on Llane. Our theme song is "I've been everywhere, man, I've been everywhere."

I'm not sure you're ever going to hit level 70 or 80 at that pace anyway..
