Patch day resources from Blizzard
Vaneras over on the WoW EU forums put up a post today listing Blizzard resources for WoW players when the patch drops tomorrow. While the post doesn't say "Patch 3.0.2 is tomorrow" it does have the title "10/13 Patch Day Paradise!" But the fact that 3.0.2 is dropping tomorrow isn't really anything new.The Blizzard resources he provides includes an FAQ on connection and patching issues. Topic covered include being stuck on connecting, having problems with your firewall, game version validation, corrupt patch files, blizzard downloader issues (see our patch mirrors for a quick and easy solution to that), and general patching advice for your operating system of choice.
He also points out the technical support phone numbers (US EU), but usually the fastest solution is to post on the technical support forums (US EU) and you'll get a response very quickly from a fellow player or from a blue.
Thanks to Trevor for the scoop

One thing that Blizzard could do to help everyone out is just provide an valid torrent file for those of us who uses our own torrent client and already have the proper holes necessary for smooth transition set up in our local routers. I mean, Blizzard's download client is a customized version of torrent, but for most of us, it works badly.

There is such a file. It's called BackgroundDownloader.torrent and it's located in your Cache folder.

It seems as though Blizzard is opening up a little bit more to their customers. Customer service has had an improvement as well.
Last night I opened a GM ticket and literally within two minutes a GM whispered me asking if it was a good time to talk.
About a month ago a GM responded within 20 minutes of me submitting a ticket.
I did not attend Blizzcon this year but I have been following the live blogging. To me it seems as people are a little disappointed from this years Blizzcon due to no big announcement.
My theory here is that Blizzard is telling us more information as time goes by instead of giving us information all at one time.
If we had not heard of duel specs, battleground queuing from anywhere etc... all that together could have been a huge announcement. If we as players start looking too far in the future could we be in fact setting ourselves up for a disappointment?

I had a similar experience. Recently opened a GM ticket and was contacted within one minute. Very impressive.

Maybe, but then why play the "we'll hint at it, but not actually SAY that the patch is tomorrow" game? I get that they don't want to announce it weeks ahead of time because if it then slips people who've planned around it would be upset... but surely they've made the call on whether it's going up tomorrow by now. So just freaking SAY... "Patch is up on the 14th, go do stuff you need to to prepare" vs dropping the cute hints at Blizzcon (get your Naxx gear in the next couple of days because after that it's gone, etc.)

The reason he didn't say Patch Day is tomorrow is that in the EU the patch day isn't tomorrow. It's Wednesday. We are going to let them break the US servers first :P

It's like having your own private army of test-monkeys, and the reason why there's so little QQ about getting content a day later. Less bugs. :D
So yes: Europe patches Wednesday.
Wednesday.
Same time locally.
On Wednesday.
