Its been awhile since i had incanter's absorption (switched to a deep fire build for the last few levels of beta), but im pretty sure that the +dmg stacks upon renewal.
so if you just got 150 dmg, then absorbed enough to get a 190 dmg absorption buff, it gets added onto what you already had.
I say this because i was only rocking like 1100 dmg at 71 and i got into a fight with multiple adds, including a warlock style mob. and i was throwing up my shield left and right sucking up damage and my spells kept hitting harder and harder, so i opened my character sheet and saw i had 1590 dmg when i killed the last guy.
Now, this might have been a bug, or they changed the functionality. But it was definitely cumulative at the time

It does stack and each stack keeps its own timer, it has been tested in the beta. This means that if you absorb one spell and then absorb another spell 6 seconds later, you will have a buff with a double power for 4 seconds (until the time of the first buff ticks out).
