I'm still a little divided on whether I'm going to go arcane or stick with frost come Tuesday. I had a ton of fun on the PTR playing with the Arcane toys, but I felt too squishie (...Well, more squishie than normal. Stupid Mages and our remarkable ability to rapidly keel over if someone notices we're nearby.) A Ret Paladin sneezing in my general dirrection was enough to send me to the graveyard in battlegrounds when I was trying out Arcane. Granted, the same is true for the other characters I brought over to the PTR, but my Mage seemed especially susceptible.
Frost on the other hand looks like it mostly works as well as ever, but the new toys like Improved Water Elemental, Fingers of Frost and the infamous Deep Freeze seem underwhelming. At least I got to play a bit with the later two before they got beaten to death with the nerf stick.
I've thought about going back to fire, but since I don't usually raid anything on my Mage, being the eternal glass cannon cancels out most of the satisfaction of setting people on fire with my mind. Playing with Living Bomb on the PTR was nice, at least once the thing quit being buggy. Maybe after dual specs come out, I might have fire in reserve as my second spec.
