Essential addons for Patch 3.0.2 [Updated x6]
Let's take a look at what addons are working for patch 3.0.2. First a simple rule taken from the UI forums post done by Kaydeethree: "Any 'Wrath beta' compatible mod will work in 3.0.2." With that said, there is a long and comprehensive listing of 3.0.2 compatible addons over on WoWWiki. But the fun doesn't end there. The next step is obtaining all those new addons. I've compiled a large set of the essential addons and linked to at least one direct download source after the break. Each download source is either trusted beyond doubt – or tested and confirmed to be virus free.
Finally, you'll want to combine the addons into a nice looking UI. Check out our special edition of Reader UI of the Week for a look at five complete 3.0.2 compatible UIs.
We're posting this list now, and will continue to update it throughout the day. Begin your addon downloads as quickly as possible to avoid hangups later in the day when download servers become overloaded.

- These addons should still be considered beta. While the transition from 2.4.3 -> 3.0.2 will be much smoother than the Burning Crusade transition that occurred two years ago, there will still be problems here and there. Be ready to trouble shoot and go without your favorite addon for a bit.
- Your addons are stored in your World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons folder. Be sure to remove all your old addons before you start updating.
- Some old 2.4.3 addons may still work. However your milage may vary.
- After you have updated your addons, select "Load out of date addons" in the addon selection window, which is accessible while you're at the character selection screen. This may help solve a few things.
- WoWInterface has two great resources up: a very large addon list of their own, and a Patch 3.0 Survival Guide.

I think the Auctioneer link is out of date. They have a 5.1.3601 version posted on their download site.

Note that Cairenn from WoW Interface is doing another addon survival guide for 3.0 (they did this last patch and it worked great).

Yeah well Carbonite, the Quest Assistant Add-On that lists all your quests with their exact locations and Zones for "Kill X" or "Collect X" type quests is essential for me.
That is what caused me to continue playing WoW :). I could not stand having to Alt Tab out of WoW to find co-ordinate locations on websites.
I understand there is something called Cartographer as well, but I'm not sure if it does the same thing.

WoW Interface has published a full list of updated add-ons. It's lengthy but it autoredirects to this page when you go to the site.

I wrote InTheBuff -- it's a pretty key mod right now: it helps you navigate the new confusing world of the WotLK buff system.
It scans through your raidmembers, looking at their talent specs, and then brings up a window showing you what buffs are covered by whom and what buffs your raid doesn't have.
Buffs/debuffs can be moused over, and you will see who provides them currently, and what classes/specs are capable of providing it.

It works, we've been using it successfully on PTR/Beta for weeks, as have other guilds.

Links for MBB, Quartz, Decursive do not lead to 3.0.2 versions.

What about Diamond Threat Meter? I know folks like omen but diamond is king!

a post over on mobmap.de said that version 3.0 of mobmap well be released around the same time as the servers come back online.
So just a heads up there.

I was curious as to whether or not BankItems still works under 3.0...
I know it's not essential but it does allow me to view my alts stuff without logging...good for resource management.

CT Raid Assist is no more... does anyone know of another add on that works the same way or similarly?

Out of curiosity, does Atlaslootenhanced work without Atlas now? For some reason i thought it depended on Atlas.
silverrealm Oct 14th 2008 9:56PM
Glad they didn't borch up Omen again.

X-Perl is not working. The files claims to be updated for 3.02, but it doesn't work. The config screen is whited out, all of the tabs are missing and it causes error after error until the game suggests disabling it.
Memzer Oct 15th 2008 1:47AM
Macaroon (TrinityBars2's successor) confirmed working on live.
