Patch 3.0.2 graveyard
There's a lot of great stuff incoming with patch 3.0.2, but there's a lot of stuff leaving as well -- here's a rundown of what we'll be missing after today.- The Zul'Aman bear mount. Yes, if you haven't picked one up yourself (or paid to get one from another guild), you're out of luck. The bear mount has been replaced with other loot, so you'll have to wait until Northrend (or go for the new TCG or BlizzCon mounts) to ride a bear.
- The Alliance Onyxia key quest, and any other quests that mention the missing king of Stormwind. The king is back in town (or will be soon), so any references to Varian Wrynn not being around any more... aren't around any more.
- Naxxramas. It's gone up north (or will soon -- we know that some people actually made sure to log out in Naxxramas, so hopefully they didn't completely disappear into the ether.
- Dalaran, that big purple bubble in the
Arathi HighlandsHillsbrad Foothills. In its place, there's nothing but a crater, because the whole city has flown North as well. - That 1% chance to miss with spells that all mobs had. In an effort to take a little bit of randomness out of the game, you can now beat spell misses with hit rating.
- Rogue poison making. No more making poisons, rogues -- now you just buy all your poisons straight from vendors.
- The old Hunter pet training system. It's been replaced with the new (and really awesome) pet talent system.
Update: We even missed some -- more after the break.
That's not all:
- Crushing blows are gone, which means tanks have other things to worry about.

Aren't Champion of the Narru and Hand of A'whatshisface going the way of the buffalo as well?
Jp Oct 14th 2008 3:28PM
Yes, both titles have been confirmed to being removed. I do believe "of the Shattered Sun" will still be attainable, in reference to a post further down.
Not 100% sure, but, if that title were being removed, I imagine there would be a Feat of Strength achievement tied to it, much as there is to Champ of the Naaru, and Hand of A'dal(as well as the older PvP titles..)

I think that's "way of the dodo" since buffalo are still around.

Champion of Naaru and Hand of A'dal titles will no longer be obtainable, however those that have the titles wil still have them. They will not be replaced with a Feat of Strength.

I don't think i am going to enjoy playing too much now...they changed alot of things...
I just wish it could all go back PRE-tbc...even the WoW 1.0 beta was enjoyable...

I miss the good ole days of not having an auction house, having to use general to find a group, and then walking there.
Superthrust Oct 14th 2008 5:54PM
yeah, cause down voting a comment cause you don't agree is really cool. I know a good number of people who would like certain aspects of the game to go back...
But, i guess you all enjoy playing your BE pally's...even though you prolly joined the game when TBC was made...
my2cents Oct 14th 2008 6:18PM
No offense, but the voting system is in place for a reason, and to expect people to simply not use it when you don't want them to is silly. Don't hate the player, hate the game ;)

"I know a good number of people who would like certain aspects of the game to go back..."
Then get them to vote you up if it hurts your ego too much. Besides, their tears probably taste like Skittles too.
"But, i guess you all enjoy playing your BE pally's...even though you prolly joined the game when TBC was made..."
Clearly you are way cooler than all us "noobs" who've only been playing 2-3 years.

Busted butt last night and got as far as talking to the blue dragoness. Have never done LBRS before, got hopelessly lost, and gave up around 1:45 in the morning. :(
Never got to see Naxx.
And i'm going to miss making my own poisons. There was always something satisfying about sulking in a corner brewing up Deadly Poison while a group bickers. i wonder what will be in lockboxes now.
Oldbear Oct 14th 2008 3:27PM
I have stacks of reagents for my rogue - I guess they will just sit there like, oh I don't know... blinding powder. This will go a long way to cleaning up bag space for me.
Lesley G Oct 14th 2008 3:42PM
@Oldbear i kept a stack of Blinding Powder for the flavor text. i hope that the Thieves' Tools that i worked so hard for (muttermutterspiders) will also be memorable enough to keep around.
i've been grinding Ravenholdt rep via Heavy boxes just in case they ever implement that stealthing mount* and a lack of reagents in them will be less money in my pocket for their resale value.
*that they've never actually talked about, and i made up on my own one night, and so doesn't and probably will never exist and might not be distributed by Ravenholdt anyway. But a girl can dream.

Dalaran was actually in Hillsbrad Foothills, on the edge of Altarac Mountains -- not Arathi. :')
Bootsanator Oct 14th 2008 3:43PM
NOPE, keep moving, it's ACTUALLY in the Alterac Mountains. Come on people. Seriously.

You said "The Alliance Onyxia key quest", so the Horde still has to do the long extensive "still harder than the old Alliance chain" chain?
Jp Oct 14th 2008 3:20PM
No one has to do anything in regards to Onyxia attunement anymore. Just walk in, and do some dragon killing now.
Pewpewlasers! Oct 14th 2008 3:08PM
There are actually bear mounts you can buy in Dalaran in beta currently.
