Patch 3.0.2: Primed and ready

Despite an earlier announcement made by Ghostcrawler that not all of the changes we anticipated will make it into the patch, most of the information you will find in the class primers will be live as of today.
- Druids: Eliah has prepared an excellent primer for Feral Druids. John P. has explained and started a discussion about the missing armor for bears. A comprehensive look at Restoration druids has been written by Allison and is split up into part one, part two and part three.
- Mages: Christian has written a guide to help you prepare your mage for 3.0.2.
- Hunters: Big Red Kitty takes an in-depth look at both the Hunter talent trees and those of their pets.
- Warlocks: We have primers ready for all warlocks, whether they be Affliction spec, Demonology spec, or Destruction spec. Zach also prepared a separate analysis for the Demonology Tree and the Destruction Tree in order to help you choose your talents.
- Priests: Matt Low has written an excellent review of the spells and abilities for both Holy and Discipline Priests, as well as delving in and taking a look at their respective talent trees.
- Paladins: Zach has covered some of the highlights of the paladin changes.
- Warriors: Matthew Rossi wrote up a guide for warriors. Check out part one and part two.
- Rogues: Chase Christian has been covering all things Rogue.
- Shamans: On Totem Talk, Matthew Rossi talks about Shamans and patch 3.0.2, and finishes the discussion in a follow-up post.

I wouldn't call it Primed and Ready until the damned thing actually works... Some servers have been up and crashed. Mine hasn't even come up yet.
offday Oct 14th 2008 7:11PM
Same. Mine was never even up for a second.
Rayzel Oct 14th 2008 8:06PM
My server isn't even *listed* in the server list. And the Blizzard forums aren't working atm either.
/sarcasm It's a good thing I DLed the patch last night to save time.

OK Feral druid and resto druid stuff ... I havent seen a damn piece of coverage on Balance. Not even one of those crappy 5 lines articles. Hell I have heard more crap about the servers being up when they arent.
Hell I'd settle for an article saying "Moonkins still shoot lasers from the sky"
So you all plan on finishing the Druid 3.0.2 patch coverage trifecta ?
Script Oct 14th 2008 7:12PM
Pretty sure the resto post mentioned that the balance one was coming later today.
Relax

"Hell I'd settle for an article saying "Moonkins still shoot lasers from the sky""
LOL
Speedmonkay Oct 14th 2008 7:41PM
I didnt even bother looking at the resto one because I have been waiting for any kind of mention of balance coverage for a long time.
/em waits patiently now.

Magus Oct 14th 2008 7:34PM
I haven't tried any of these (Blizz downloader worked for me)...

Let us know if any of them work for you.

Wow I've been looking for the paladin article all day and then all you can link is an out-of-date week old retread?
Is there any new Paladin analysis coming?
Shadowfury Oct 14th 2008 7:27PM
I suddenly found myself looking for the death knight 3.0 article.
I guess I'm playing beta too much.
Akussa Oct 14th 2008 7:34PM
Well, when you consider just how many people are trying to log into the servers all at the same time it only makes sense that they would crash under the strain. I'm not even bothering right now. I'll try again in a couple hours. If not tonight then tomorrow sounds good to me.
Amaxe Oct 14th 2008 7:33PM
Beginning to think it will be tomorrow yes.
Danca Oct 14th 2008 7:32PM
I had enough time to get a haircut, create a new talent build and tame a devilsaur. And now my server's back offline.
Deb Oct 14th 2008 8:01PM
Let's be honest, millions of dollars in the coffers of WoW and a 12+ hours of who knows how long of downtime is no joy.
adbiku Oct 14th 2008 7:45PM
Okay, I managed to log on a few moments. It went down again but no big deal. I can roll with that.
My big question...
Why did nobody mention the passive bonuses from gathering professions?!
I saw... very briefly. that i have a +12 crit strike from skinning now, a miner was getting +300 max HP, and a herbalist was getting a self heal.
I don't know if these scale, or are fixed amounts. I don't know the exact criteria to get them. i've only got my skinning to about 362, so I know it doesn't have to be maxxed to receive the bonus.
Awesome!
Danca Oct 14th 2008 7:47PM
Very! I had no idea about them until now.
adbiku Oct 14th 2008 7:55PM
Sort of a self indulgent speculation at this point, mostly cause my server is still tryin to fix itself...
I wonder if these are tiered abilities for the gathering professions... i.e. will an apprentice skinner perhaps have "Apprentice of anatomy" as opposed to my master skinners "master of anatomy"?
I look forward to seeing what other sort of unmentioned goodies we come across.
Amanda Miller Oct 14th 2008 9:35PM
Actually, we covered this quite awhile ago, when it was first patched in on the Beta realms. Apologies if it missed the round-ups! We've all been concentrating on making sure everyone can get a handle on their new character talents.

Just logged on after the download and got a new message indicated servers will be up at 6 PM PST. T_T
