Breakfast Topic: Unexpected Changes in Patch 3.0.2

On a good note, I seemed to have totally missed that Marks of Honor were going to be on the Currency tab in the character screen instead of taking up precious bag space until i actually logged in yesterday. Yay more bag space!
My favorite surprise in Echoes of Doom, however, was discovering that my Herbalist now has a new self-heal over time spell: Lifeblood. It's instant cast and has a 3 minute cooldown. There it was just sitting in my General Skills. A guildie had to point it out to me. I should probably take a closer look at the patch notes.
What changes did you not expect to find in Patch 3.0.2?

Or, you know, turn auto-loot on. ;-)

Whether that is a change in this patch, or just a tip I never knew before, you just saved me hours. Thanks.

It's rough when a patch breaks your caps-lock key, hopefully blizzard will find it in their hearts to send you a new one.

The unexpected change I found: my mounts and pets are gone after learning them. Not in the pet tab, but gone.
I'm going to my hole to QQ some more.
storment Oct 15th 2008 10:42AM
Mine too, learned all my flying mounts and now they are gone. Completely gone. That was a very unexpected change.

Mana worms are back in Bashir Landing in numbers, making mana cell daily a bit longer.
Mechanical chickens are pets, mechanical yetis are not. The former can be added to your pet tab, not the latter.
Nether residue in Outland now looks like blobs of face cream, rather than piles of dust.
Rugus Oct 15th 2008 8:57AM
I would send a GM ticket for that one, sounds like they forgot to fix it.
Rob Oct 15th 2008 9:46AM
Yeti are actually combat pets, the tab only works for non-combat pets. Working as intended (dont you hate that phrase?)
Hudders Oct 15th 2008 9:55AM
Depends if you mean "mechanical yeti" or "tranquil mechanical yeti" - the former is a combat pet, the latter is not.

I noticed that there was less squirrels about, whoi ate the squirrles aarthas/11`/.?
Zanzi Oct 15th 2008 10:10AM
Sorry, that was me. I had to try out my new talents on something, and the Squirrels were the closest thing I could kill. I'm afraid, though, that my characters now rock so hard that I perma-killed some of them.
I now expect D.E.H.T.A. to come after me any day, but at least I feel like I can take them. I knew this day would finally come.

Well, I spend almost all night last night fixing addons and even this morning, my server has been pretty borked. However, one thing I noticed is that when you cast the Herbalism HoT, it growns flowers all around you. Very nice animation!

The boats are no longer ghost ships. The one from Auberdine to Darnassus even has vendors.
Bosswally Oct 15th 2008 9:01AM
hey i just noticed your character in the image stole my guilds name, we were the original Grim.

I didn't expect to be 2 thrills for the price of one... I was anxious for wotkl, but now I am thrilled as much with this patch... not a bad idea to scalate the expansion... Also the log in screen has animation, better looking than the BC one in my opinion... yeap, little by little the virtual worlds are coming more and more into our lifes.

No mention (unless I missed it) of the reduced XP requirements between 60-70 that we expected in the patch. Does anyone know if it's been implemented?
