Hellfire Fortifications grants an Insignia

And yes, it is just a start -- the Insignia removes all movement-impairing effects, but it doesn't have any extra resilience like the epic PvP trinkets you can get from turning in honor, so if you're doing lots of PvP, you'll still want to grind for the other trinkets. It is equivalent to the trinket sold for ~2800 honor (that used to be a class-specific trinket, but is now basically faction-specific), just a little easier to get.
I also checked the Halaa PvP quest in Nagrand, but there's no extra trinket reward there, just the usual daily gold and the extra honor. The Armory shows that this is the only place you can get it, save for the usual honor vendors. So if you haven't nabbed a PvP trinket yet, go take some fortifications in Hellfire.

Nice touch, pity they didn't implement it all along so you didn't have a bunch of PvE guilds grinding battlegrounds for Archimond, Twins etc.
Discograndpa Oct 16th 2008 6:58PM
I think the main reason why they're implementing it now is because Death Knights can get them easily in their starting zone, and they want to hear minimal QQ when more people find out about it.

Does this only work for the first time your character completes the quest, or does it also work retroactively from the daily, repeatable version?
Zamboni Oct 16th 2008 6:58PM
It's retroactive. My lvl 70 Warlock got it yesterday, and I've done the daily many times before.
(It was only by chance that someone asked for help when I was standing by the questgiver. The trinket was just one of those things I never bothered to pick up during the Honor grinds.)

Does it work for the daily or only the first time you do it?
sdasdas Oct 16th 2008 6:23PM
Marked PVP not PVP Daily. It is only done once. I was able to do both in one sitting by carrying the PVP Daily before the updated version.
Zanthix Oct 16th 2008 6:25PM
I noticed this last night on my alt Rogue. After turning the quest in from the previous day, I was able to accept this non Daily quest right after. Figured I'd give a heads up to all non 70s quest out in outlands.

Man to think of all that time I had to waste pvping in order to get that trinket before.

My brother just bought the Insignia of the Horde after farming the honor for it... 30 minutes before this article was posted. Ouch!
webrunner Oct 16th 2008 7:27PM
You also will receive the Achievement if you dont have a trinket yet
Nasgoul Oct 16th 2008 7:54PM
I don't know if anyone else brought this up
Mr. Schramm
but i do see hyperlinking the Horde item as an aggressive act....
There might be a Horde main in our midst.

What are you talking about, you blithering idiot?
uncaringbear Oct 16th 2008 8:25PM
Nasgoul is the reason people look down on alliance players as whining, QQing little twits.

I remember the days when people had a sense of humor on the internet

I remember when I played Alliance... for five levels. Went back and begged my Blood Elf for forgiveness
VSUReaper Oct 16th 2008 8:13PM
I'm slightly peeved to see this happen. Especially since I just spent the last weekend grinding honor to get the insignia.... well there was a weekend wasted :(
Fenom Oct 16th 2008 8:47PM
it takes you all weekend for 2800 honor?
VSUReaper Oct 17th 2008 12:05AM
No, i went for the one with a little bit of resil, but yeah, when you are starting from scratch (less than 50 honor) it takes a while to save it all up.
Clasifyd Oct 17th 2008 10:08AM
Don't forget: You also got your trinket on a two minute cooldown, as opposed to the five minute on the freebie trinket, so it was certainly not all for naught.
Toliman Oct 17th 2008 2:34AM
i don't need another trinket to drop into my bank, thanks though. it's handy i guess ?
perhaps, instead, with the championing effects coming later, switch the trinket to a rare/epic faction tabard ?
e.g. if they can enchant pants, they can enchant a shirt or tabard to do the requisite +3 to awesomeness, much like the av trinket stormpike/frostwolf insignia or others.
as well as allow the proposed multipliers to faction rep gain per HK, mob kill, based on honored/revered/exalted status, etc.
